Hey guys,

I am applying for student visa this November.

5-6 months ago i applied for express entry profile just for fun without ielts and education assessment. My application for EE got ineligible.

Now, I am applying for student visa and I am confused that do I need to mention that Express Entry application in my student visa application?

There are question in form IMM1294E;

a) Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other Country?
b) Have you previously applied to enter or remain in Canada?
c) If you answered "yes" to a), b) or c), please provide detail.

Should I explain that EE application here which i applied without IELTS and EA ?

EE profile is not an application,if you would have been invited and thereafter you submitted yours documents that would count as applying.Answer should be No.

Study Permit
@M3M,
Same here. I had created my EE profile a year back with all necessary documents. But never had enough points to get an ITA. My EE profile got expired last week. Meantime, I got admission in one of the university and now I'm preparing my application for the study permit. I was searching for an answer to the same question. Did you contact the CIC or an immigration lawyer? What was their answer?

@gsohi2011,
Thanks for your answer.
This question is answered in both Yes and No in this forum. There are posts suggesting that submitting an EE profile should be considered as ones intention to enter or remain in Canada. Would you please explain why you think the answer to this question is No. Is it based on your experience or based on the experience of someone you know or you heard it from an immigration lawyer or the CIC?

Thanks!

OMG
You have made me worried guys.
Just applied for study permit and answered “No” to the above questions.
However, in 2014 I sent application for PR under fast track. The application package was returned back as cap was already filled when it reached CIC.
I thought it wasn’t like applying for visa. But now reading the above comments I am worried as it might be taken as misrepresentation.

Apply in case of express entry means you have paid the fees along with your application after receiving an invitation to apply from IRCC.Just creating a express entry profile does not mean you have applied for permanent residency.Hope it clears your doubt now.

Hmm . In my case I also enclosed DD of the applicable fee but the same was returned with the application package. Now it’s upto visa officer if he counts that as a case of misrepresentation or otherwise

Can you please update what did you? I am in the same situation, already applied for study permit but haven't disclosed my EE profile since I didn't believe it was an application to remain/enter but only an expression of interest. Should I let IRCC know since my study permit application is still under process?

Hello everyone,

I have the same question. I created my EE profile a few months ago. Now I'd like to go for study permit as my crs is not that adequate. So,

1. Considering the point that I already had EE profile, does IRCC accept my request for study permit?

2. Shall I withdraw from my EE profile before start applying for study visa?

I really appreciate your help in advance.

Even if you withdraw they'd still know that you used to have one. They are ok with dual intent, so no worries I would say. Going by their definitions, submission of EE profile is just an expression of interest and not application so we shouldn't have been worried at all. However, if the VO was incompetent, then you could have your application rejected. So best to disclose it. I didn't cos i was confused by the semantics. I didn't get any advice on this forum so I went ahead submitted additional information through the web form where I explained my confusion. I will find out when I get to know the outcome of my application. I think you'll be fine, just disclose it cos you never know how competent or well-trained the VO is

Thank for your help.
After I get accepted by a college, do you know how long is the process time to get study permit from IRCC (include of reviewing my documents as well as giving biometric)? In fact, I'd like to know when is the earliest term that I can apply for?
