hi Guys -

I have submitted the document for my spouse 6 months back and last month I have submitted my medical which I passed. Since then there is no update on my profile.

How can I get an update on my profile ? - can I email them and ask status ?

How long it is expected to take to get the final decision ?

Thanks
You can call IRCC helpline (Long wait time few months back and don't know current scenario) and rep might help in providing status.
If you send an email, the response should be generic and not much use of it.

The alternate method is to apply for GCMS notes.

There is no specific time to process the application and varies based on Visa Office & Applicant.

Hi all,

I am getting married in July last week, I got my copr from ndvo one week back.
Can I take my wife with me and apply Pr in Canada. Or should I Inform CIC abboout my marriage.?
If you get married before you land, then you must add her to your application, and she will become a PR at the same time you do (Your current visa get cancelled and IRCC issue new PPR email after processing Spouse docs).

If you marry after you land, you can sponsor her as your wife.

Used @spousalsponsee notes from "https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/wife-visa-after-pr-visa-stamping.514295/".

Thanks Gowthamp. Can you PLEASE clarify little more on this.
1) In the request letter for spouse documentation, they didn't mention anywhere to return the visa & COPR. So can i wait for them to complete my wife's processing and return my visa and COPR along with her passport when passport request comes 2nd time. Is this fine ?
If you don't receive any other communication from IRCC you may can do it, but I am not sure about this.

2) My medical will expire on 28 Aug 2018. So when i return my visa & COPR along with my wife's passport during 2nd time passport request, at that time will they decide on my medical situation- whether to extend or retake ?
Most of the times IRCC extend medicals (case to case scenario), if not they request to retake medicals before issuing new PPR email.
Kindly respond.

Hi, guys, after eight months' long wait, I received an interview request for me and my spouse. The instructions told us to bring two passport-size photos (50*70) respectively, so I suppose we'll get our COPR immediately after we pass the interview.

However, my first medical expired back in February this year, and the letter didn't ask me for a second one. And I'm wondering, without a second medical, will the COPR still be valid ?

Thanks Gowtham. Can you pls help with few more queries ?

1. IMM0008- I have to fill online, validate and generate barcode, take printout, do manual signature, scan and then upload, is this right ?
OR if digital signature is reqd, how to do it ? as I didn't see any such button on the form. Will digital signature option come on during uploading in the slot ? I am confused on how to digitally sign this document.
This form has to be uploaded separately or can be clubbed with other forms and uploaded together ?

2. remaining forms- just fill online, no validate required, take printout, do manual signature, scan & upload, right ?

I can pdf merge all these forms in the end after taking scan right ?

In Validate page, to the left of Date field, there is "Declaration of applicant". I gave full name in that field.

All the forms can be merged with other forms unless you got separate upload option for each form. (I got only one).

2. remaining forms- just fill online, no validate required, take printout, do manual signature, scan & upload, right ?
For IMM-5669 form, I added 2 extra pages (Scanned to pdf and merged with IMM 5669), one pdf page is to answer 2nd question and another is to add signature manually.
You can take printout of all the pages or take printout of signature page & merge to actual pdf form file.
My spouse manually signed on this form only.

I mentioned the following content in PDF document and attached with all other forms.
"We tried our best to sign on most of the documents, but due to the submission of Soft copies (PDF files) we may have missed signatures in some forms. If you require any other document to assist our PR application, we will submit them happily."

I can pdf merge all these forms in the end after taking scan right ?

Hi guys, I got married after PPR and It's been over six months since the generation of my husband's UCI. Is there anything I can do to expedite the process?

category: OINP

Visa office : Hong Kong

Timeline:
AOR: Mar 3 2017
Mep: Jun 9
PPR: Sept 27
Married: Oct 10
Documents of marriage submitted: Nov 21
Generation of my husband's UCI: Nov 28

I was told that ordering GCMS notes could accelerate the process , so I entrusted a PR friend within Canada to do so. But to my disappointment, there hasn't been anything in his mailbox yet since his ordering on Mar 15 2018.

I tried to contact HKVO via web form , but received no reply;
I telephoned the call centre in Ottawa once---the operator told me the info he has access to was pretty much the same as that could be seen in my online account.

So, anything else I can do? The long wait is quite excruciating.

I'd appreciate if you can give me any advice.

One other thing: unlike most of you who uploaded your spouse's documents via the slots in your online account, I submitted them via web form. So, does the generation of my husband's UCI mean that they have received those documents and that they are , according to the earlier request letter, complete?

Hi, CathayKellyChen,

Can i get in touch with you? do you have a whatsapp or wechat?

Hi guys, just come back from my interview. How have you been doing ?@acheandre

The interview letter had asked me for practically everything, from additional documentation for my stated work and education histories, language skills, to my eligibility as an OINP, to materials demonstrating my employability in Canada, to proof of relationships. So the last two weeks had been an uphill fight---I was driving aross the city to find papers needed; I was persuading people hard into giving me proofs they considered strange;I was doing clerical work around-the-clock. And this is the content of my final,142-page document:

Our interview was scheduled at 9:00 AM19th.Compressing a document of 40+M has been a royal pain in the neck. It took us hours to get it done on 17th, when I was told the IRCC website was down ! So we headed for the train station helter-skelter and finally uploaded the document in the wee hours of 18th! Close call was the only phrase I could think of!

I suffered from insomnia the night before our big day---answers to all possible questions kept occuring to me. I got up at six and bought some bread and coffee at the nearest general store; I came back and sychronized statements with my husband. The Consulate is only 10 minutes' walk from our hotel and we set off at about 7:50.

We were early in the lobby of Bershire House and still busy sychronizing...our interpreter showed up 30 minutes later and led us to the 9th floor, where we queued after ID confirmation and security check.

Now comes the centrepiece!

--- Good morning.
----Good morning!
----We are already sastified with your eligibility as an OINP, and the purpose for today's interview is to clarify your relationship. Do you have any paper materials to show me ?
---- Materials regarding our relationship ?
-----Yes.
(passing documents through the window)
----Can you explain what's this ?
----As you can see from the photo, my husband owns a Mercedes-Benz, and this is the invoice of that car. I tried to prove that I paid for the deposit, so this could constitute a joint purchase.
----And this is your landlady(pointing to a group photo with my husband, me, and landlady in it)?
----Yes, she's living in the flat opposite to ours. We invite her to our dinner parties sometimes.
-----Is this your wedding(pointing to another)?
-----No, it's the wedding of a friend, which my husband and I attended together.
-----When was that ?
------May 1st 2018.
------XXX(my husband's name), please wait outside, I'd like to talk to CathyKellyChen first( I thought she wanted to ask my husband in and me out latter on, but it didn't dawn on me until the end that she asked him out simply to expedite the process----he doesn't speak English, and the interpreter had to chime in every few seconds as long as he was in the room.)

As expected, she combed through the timeline and geography of my husband's upbringing and education and our love relationship(thanks to my synchronizing !). And then came the big question:
----Apparently you have been in a long-term relationship, why did you apply for OINP as single?
----Because back then my husband had been travelling around as a salesperson to develop his clients, and every travel took one month or two . Since there were many interruptions during the cohabiting, this doesn't fit into a common-law relationship, which requires at least 12 months' continuous shacking-up.
-----Why did you get married immediately after your application was finalized ?
-----If I didn't do that, I had to land first and then apply for family sponsorship. According to the data on your website, family sponsorship will take an average processing time of 13 months, whilst it took only weeks or months, as I was told by my peer applicants, to process marriage before landing. So I did what did for the sake of efficiency--if I succeed in getting my permament residence, it won't be a problem for my husband to gain his regardless to the timing of our marriage, as long as our relationship is bona fide. Besides, I have a deep attachment to him, I don't want to leave him even for a short time---I hate being away from him; the notion of parting with him pains me to my core.
-----We are sastified with your intended job, but your husband, I get the sense he doesn't speak English, what's his plan for working in Canada?
-----He knows computer backwards and forwards thanks to his education back in trade school. In the field of computer science, language doesn't matter that much. And I have a friend who's been working as a mobile application developer in Ottawa for more than a year, and she's willing to help us adapt to the new environment and take the initiative to introduce job opportunities to us which she knows through her own network.
(the VO smiled approvingly)
Please call your husband in.
----And I have to go outside ?
----No, you can stay here.
----If you application is approved, when will you land ?
----By the end of this year, maybe before Nov, coz' his medical expires by Oct.

----That's the end of today's interview. I have to do some crosscheck before I draw the conlustion and I haven't got time to look at the documents you submitted yesterday.
-----How long would it take before the final decision is made ?
-----You'll be hearing from us within two weeks. And we'll send you a message if we need further information, including new medicals.

(outside the Consulate)

Interpreter: You are doing great today, your statement sounds logical and even more convincing than my interpretation.I think things will work out well for you two---the VO has bought into your words, coz' she didn't raise any doubt. Your English is so good , making my work effortless today! I wish I could have more clients like you.
Me: Haha, I'm flattered.
Interpreter: We shall part here, coz' I'm going somewhere faraway. You have my blessing.
Me: Thank you very much. Bye.

It is remarkable that the GCMS notes I read last night says: the PA married new spouse after application for permanent residence is finalized. No formal wedding held. Disparate levels of education. Different socio-economic backgrounds. Limited evidence of relationship. Interview required to assess BFs of relationship.

And the interviewer has asked me an interesting question: your husband comes from a small village, doesn't he ?

Hi everyone, I got my CoPR this month and have until Feb next year to land in Canada. I am getting married this December. We have been living together for under a year about 8 months now. So, I don't have enough documentation to provide to justify common law relationship.Having read online both here and otherwise my understanding is that the spousal sponsorship route is a long ordeal. Going by comments on this thread, medical should hold good for me.

Is the best way forward to write to CPC after the marriage and asking to withdraw my application and add my partner to my application and land together?
OR
Can my partner apply as a single applicant and get the CoPR and land individually and I can do the same too? Will there be any impact if both of us have PRs as single(which is our current status) but not our status when we land?

Your inputs are much appreciated! Thank you

HI Gowtham,

I submitted my spouse's documents. I got medical exam request letters for both me and my spouse. I don't see any upload button activated to upload medical result. Will there be a upload button available to submit medical exam results also?

OR will IRCC directly sync with hospital on this ?

Currently they have only updated my spouse name & her UCI under Dependent details. But no button is there to upload medical documents. I have to write another mail to ask them to activate button ?

If you don't see upload button, send through webform and email Ottawa office.
