Hi Gowtham,

Need your urgent advice !
I got married on 23rd June 2018 and informed CIC Ottawa office and got reply within 24 hours on 27th June 2018. They updated spouse documentation letter in my CIC account and gave me 30 days to upload all docs in my CIC account (last date is 27th July 2018). My questions are:

1. I didn't update New Delhi VO through CSE/IRCC web form. Hope it is not an issue ?
Not an issue.

2. In my CIC account, only 2 slots are opened to upload my spouse documents. Will 2 slots be enough to upload all documents or will they open more slots again for each specific category like- pcc, passport, marriage certificate, birth certificate, various forms etc..?
It happens. sometimes IRCC opens 1 or 2 slots. You have to merge all the documents and upload them together.

3. In the 2 slots, it is mentioned as "replacement needed" on far left. What does this mean ? Will they change it to something else later or do I need to ask them again on this ?
Those slots wont be changed.

4. If only 2 slots, do I have to merge all docs in 1 slot and upload ? I don't know max size for this ?
Max size to upload docs is 4MB. so merge the documents into 2 files and upload the documents in 2 slots.

5. I guess I have to return my COPR and visa ONLY once they request again with a mail to send passport as they did 1st time ?
Yes, If you haven't receive that email, send webform (Ottawa and Delhi VO).

6. Is this correct way of filling the forms ?
a) IMM0008- to be filled by me for both myself and my spouse ?
to be filled by primary applicant only (You).

b) IMM 5406- both me and my spouse separately each copy ?
to be filled by you and your spouse.

c) IMM 5669- only my spouse needs to fill ?
to be filled by spouse only.

d) IMM 5562- in the form on top it is written principal applicant must fill, so only I am going to fill for myself and my spouse, right ?
to be filled by primary applicant for all applicants.

Pls respond !! Thanks.

@gowthamp @scylla
can you please calrify one doubt that I have.
After notifying CIC about my marriage, will I receive a separate COPR document and visa once I return the passport ?
Will my wife receive separate COPR and visa after submitting the passporrt (post medicals ofcourse)?
Is this how it works?

Also once I get the notification for application kit and I send the passport and COPR back to visa office, will I receive my updated COPR and visa immediately ( meaning irrespective my wife's documents have been submitted or not?)
please please clarify this doubt.

Many Thanks Gowtham for the quick response. One more query:
Regarding returning my visa & COPR, can i wait till they complete my spouse processing ? or i have to remind them about it ?
(I didn't get any mail from Ottawa office or NDVO yet, so thinking to wait for completion of spouse processing.).

If i remind them, what should i mention in the mail ?

If i have to return my visa & COPR while spouse processing is still going on, i will get another mail again for requesting passport of my spouse ?

I am confused about this returning COPR process. Kindly clarify from your experience. Thanks !

Your current Visa and COPR get cancelled.

You will get new PPR Email later (After evaluating spouse's docs).

You will receive only one email (Spouse won't receive any email), which can be used to send all applicants passports.

Mention that you have received COPR but you got married. Do I have to return Visa and COPR? If so, what is the procedure of returning COPR?

Yes, you will receive another email after processing spouse's docs.

I am confused about this returning COPR process. Kindly clarify from your experience. Thanks !

Thanks @gowthamp. But you just mentioned the following in one of the answers above -
Question - If i have to return my visa & COPR while spouse processing is still going on, i will get another mail again for requesting passport of my spouse ?
Gowthamp's answer - Yes, you will receive another email after processing spouse's docs.

So if the initial letter that asks for spouse's documents asks me to return my passport and COPR, then in that case I should simply return it right?
And once spouse's documents and medicals are processed, spouse will receive a passport request right?

please help me with this query @gowthamp @scylla thank you very much in advance!

@Aroonabi @deadbird - Hi both of you! I read first 20 pages of this thread so far and got answers to many questions. Now, please help me with these questions if you can. will be really helpful!
1) Let us say I return my passport and COPR as soon as they ask for it. Does this mean that my passport will be with them for the entire duration of my spouse's application processing & I will receive my passport along with my wife's passport together? (so my passport won't be with me for 2 to 4 months?)

2) Let us say I did not do upfront medicals? Then after submitting all the requested documents, will I receive a medical request for my wife? OR do I send the medical exam receipt along with the requested documents? I am confused about this.

Please help. Thanks @scylla @canuck_in_uk Will be great if you could help as well.

hi Guys -

I have submitted the document for my spouse 6 months back and last month I have submitted my medical which I passed. Since then there is no update on my profile.

How can I get an update on my profile ? - can I email them and ask status ?

How long it is expected to take to get the final decision ?

Thanks

Thanks Gowthamp. Can you PLEASE clarify little more on this.
1) In the request letter for spouse documentation, they didn't mention anywhere to return the visa & COPR. So can i wait for them to complete my wife's processing and return my visa and COPR along with her passport when passport request comes 2nd time. Is this fine ?

2) My medical will expire on 28 Aug 2018. So when i return my visa & COPR along with my wife's passport during 2nd time passport request, at that time will they decide on my medical situation- whether to extend or retake ?

Kindly respond.

You current Visa mentions martial status as SINGLE.
This visa will be cancelled and because of change in martial status.

You will get new PPR email after processing spouse documents (Only one email to primary applicant, where we have to send Primary applicant and spouse passport together).

IRCC issue new VISA and COPR again.
