Hello,
I visited NYC Consulate General India for PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) and I want to share my experience.

First required Documents
  1. Application form here
  2. Passport Original
  3. Passport first, last page copies including Visa copy
  4. Passport size photograph (Optional I didn't provided)
Process at Consulate
  1. Enter into consulate entry is from left side of the main door. Room is underground
  2. Get token and wait for your turn (reach as early as possible because there will be a long line)
  3. Once they announce your token number go to window and hand them all the documents from above list
  4. Pay your feed in cash (if passport issued in NY $27 or pay $42)
  5. They will ask you to come back at 12 O'clock and pick your PCC even your passport is not issued by NY Consulate
  6. Go at 12 O'clock and stand at counter 5 someone will come and hand you over your PCC (Keep copy of the payment with you)
Things to keep in mind
  • Keep all the documents ready for faster process. I have seen people taking 15-20 mins for handing over documents from their 4-5 files.
  • People at Consulate are very patient and good. They are always trying to do process as soon as possible but people are coming without preparation which takes time. So, please be prepared with all the documents.

Hi,

There is a reference of Nationality verification form on the NY website. Do we need any such form as well for police verification?

So do we not need a form of address proof or something ? like license , lease agreement? I heard from some people that you do need to provide address proof just to make sure you go to your appointed consulate based on the state you live in.

Thank you for pointing out, Yes you do need license for address proof

They do have copy machine over there but I would suggest not to rely on them and get copies with you

is it possible to apply for PCC for self and spouse at the same time without spouse being present? Does it have to be in person?
