Fantastic!
Highly appreciate if you could please send me the name or the contact of one of these translation offices in Ibn khaldoun street, as I'm not familiar with that area.
The one I dealt with is called "FN AL-EBDAA Translation Center" in Osama Center Complex opposite to the handicapped club traffic.

The numbers are as following:

22619040 & 22639040.

Contact me if you need more info ... good luck ...

Thanks a million!
I called the number you gave me. They said they can give me a letter from the translator confirming that he is certified - i guess that's the affidavit. But they said they cant certify the letter for me. I have to take it to the ministry of justice and do it myself.
Did you do the same thing?

That’s great!

Which document are you referring to exactly??

I did not need to certify any translated document given that I am providing the original with it as an attachment.

I need to translate my university degree and transcripts because they are not in english.
Well yes in this case I would say that you would need to go to the Ministry of higher education for the attestation of the translated certificates.

Is it possible to request english transcripts from your uni? Did you start with the educational credential assessment (ECA)?

Hi apologies for jumping in here.. I'm an applicant from Saudi not Kuwait... But as far as I know (and that is what I did with my documents) you don't need notarization if you are submitting originals... So you will scan the original + translation + affidavit from translation office saying that it is a true and accurate translation... And that's it ..

Dear medwiz and amug,

I'm sorry maybe I didnt explain myself properly.
My problem is how to get the affidavit. I have contacted the translation office that amug dealt with. And they confirmed that in addition to translating my university degree and transcripts, they can give me a letter from the translator saying that he is fluent in arabic and english and that he is a credited translator. I guess this is the affidavit I was looking for.
However, IRCC website requests that this affidavit gets certified in a notary office or something similar.
When I asked the translation office, they said they cant certify it (the affidavit). They asked me to take it to the ministry of justice in kuwait and get it certified over there.
So my question to amug is: did you also have to do that? I.e. go to the ministry of justice to certify the affidavit letter.

No, the affidavit provided by the translation office which is signed and stamped was enough.

They translated the documents, stamped the translations in addition to stamping the copy of the originals and attaching them to the translation (to confirm that THESE are the ones we translated). Their affidavit simply stated that we are certified and capable of translating to the best of our capabilities from Arabic to English.

That is the only thing I did and no further attestation was needed whatsoever. I got PPR so you can be assured that this method is the correct one LOL.

They probably did it on the spot after you were done but it takes sometime to be checked and for your application to be updated ... It took around 20 days for me ... You can go there and double check that they uploaded the results.
