Hello everybody,

i am going to apply very soon, i still have one confusing question : Question 12-b
my situation is like this :
2013 and 2014 the entire two years outside of Canada
2015,2016 and 2017 the entire three years inside Canada
i did the tax files for the years 2015,2016 and 2017
i did NOT do the file taxes for the years 2013 and 2014 because i was outside of Canada and i had no income in Canada
the question now, is how i can answer the question 12-b and what boxes i should check ( required or not required for 2013 and 2014)
was ii required to file my taxes for the years 2013 and 2014 or not
Please advice as soon as possible

thanks in advance

When I applied, I had exactly 1098 days. However, I didn't have any travel history to take into consideration. My application was straight forward and there was no chance of miscalculation in the no.of physical presence days. That said, if you have some travel history, give some buffer room just so that you won't accidentally come up short (on days lived in Canada). It is NOT risky if you're very cautious, mindful and absolutely sure of the information that you put in your application.

I hope this is helpful.
Good luck!

Kal

Thanks Dear

https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/you-have-file-a-return.html explains who has to file a return.

(Note that that's for the current tax years; rules may have been slightly different in the past, so it may be prudent to do some more research)

For every year where you did not meet any of those requirements you can tick the box that says you did not need to file. If you did have to file then you probably should do so. In that case it may be worthwhile to go see an accountant.

I applied family application in Feb and requested urgent processing (job offer) a few days ago.
I received an email from cic today saying thank u and the next step would be to wait for test invite. Please check ecas for notices we send you.

I don't know if this means anything or it's just going down the normal processing route.?
I guess time will tell.

I think receiving an email from IRCC (about the test invite) is a pretty good sign..
What does your ECAS say at the moment?
Is your application In-Process now?

Received AOR end of March and ECAS hasn't changed.

Here's hoping anyway.

Hello all,

I applied for my citizenship application on February 20th. It was received on February 23rd and I got my AOR on March 15th. The issue is that I haven't been able to receive any of the correspondence from them on my email. So when I checked my application again, I realised that I had given them a wrong email! (oop's!) :'(
How can I update my email address so that I start to receive any correspondence from them?

Thanks for you help!

How did you receive your AOR??
I checked my application status on ecas and so that AOR was given on March 15th however I didn't receive any email. So if I didn't check my application status online, I wouldn't have known any update in regards to my application.
