Indian PCC in USA - Chicago consulate- processing time?

Hi I have a quick question regarding Indian PCC
1- Me and my wife are applying together and she is the primary applicant so for the PCC do we need to apply together or do we need to apply separately?

2- If we need to apply together for PCC do we need to have same address(Indian) and same family name?

I heard that both wife and hunsbad need to send in different packets but I am not 100% convinced waiting for some of the forum members to reply.

Hope your EE process is all sorted by now. I have to send my documents to Chicago India Consulate for PCC. Can you please answer these 2 questions:
1. You did not send them original PP. Did they ask for your original passport?
2. How many days they took to send your report by mail?

Hey! Yes, I recently got my CoPR. Hope you get one soon too.

1. It was clearly mentioned in their website that original PP is required. I was little reluctant about mailing it so I called their office to know if it is mandatory for Indian PCC but I do not remember what exactly the lady replied. However, I ended up mailing my original PP.
2. It took me around 14 days to receive. They mailed out in about 10 days after receiving my application for PCC.

I applied for PCC on 28th Dec, 2017, still no news yet. I was calling and emailing them but no response from these folks.

My passport is stuck with them, it's so frustrating..

Question specific to Chicago Consulate. Did you have to fill out a 'Personal Particulars' form? Some members are seeing that form as a new addition on the Chicago consulate website. It seems to be something new and not present when I got my PCC from there last year?

Wondering what your experience was.

Me and my wife got our PCC from Chicago 2 weeks back. We submitted our application at noon and got the PCC by 3:30pm.
Whether you will get it on the same day depends on your police verification status. I had my passport renewed by Chicago consulate in 2016 where as my wife still has her passport issued in India.
When you enter the Consulate, the person at the reception desk checks your passport and takes a print out of your profile from their database.
If your police verification status is okay the person at the reception will give you a token number and send you to the next window.
If not he will let you know that you cannot get your PCC the same day.

I think having a passport issued by them should mean that your police verification status is up to date, but I am not 100% sure about it.
The only way to be fully sure is to go there and check for yourself.
Another option might be you can call them and based on your passport number they can tell whether you can get PCC on same day.
It's a long shot but you can try.

To answer your second question no you both needn’t be there. I had submitted documents on my wife’s behalf. Your first question has been answered above. And I will add to that. Even if passport is issued in USA you may not get pcc same day. As mentioned in above post they check in the system and if you’re in the system they can issue pcc same day. My passport was issued in USA by Washington DC but still Chicago refered the case to India as they couldn’t find pcc in system
