I have only worked as a lab technician NOC 2211 for two years. I have Diploma in chemical lab tech from Canada and bachelor of pharmacy from India. I got points for professional degree for being pharmacist (not by exp by education) and work exp points for NOC 2211. They dont have to be same
Okay cool. I'm curious to know if you have already received your PR because in the ECA Request form for PEBC, it states that you should apply for PEBC ECA only if you intend to apply with the primary occupation as a pharmacist. So I'm afraid if CIC may reject my application later on as I am not basing my application on NOC3131.

All i could find on CIC website for pharmacy is

1) If you are getting an ECA report from the Medical Council of Canada or the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada, your ECA report must show that your foreign education credentials are equal to the Canadian credentials needed to practice that occupation in Canada.

2)
For Express Entry, we only accept professional degrees in these fields:

  • medicine,
  • veterinary medicine,
  • dentistry,
  • podiatry,
  • optometry,
  • law,
  • chiropractic medicine, or
  • pharmacy.

Pharmacy
  • Five or more years of professional university study in pharmacy
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree
  • Four-year Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in pharmacy

Please feel free to share any page from cic stating you have to work as a pharmacist to get pharmacy points in education.

Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for Canadian Immigration Programs: Express Entry for Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) Applicants and Canadian Experience Class Applicants

In addition to applying for Document Evaluation, applicants under the “Express Entry for FSWP and Canadian Experience Class” must complete the Request Form for an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) Report. On behalf of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), PEBC is responsible for assessing the authenticity of the primary pharmacist qualification – the candidate’s pharmacy degree. After PEBC has completed the Document Evaluation process, PEBC will generate an ECA Report which will be mailed directly to the candidate. It is the candidate’s responsibility to submit the ECA Report to CIC, since CIC only accepts original assessments directly from applicants.

For more information on the “Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for Canadian Immigration Programs: Express Entry for Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Canadian Experience Class”, refer to the CIC website.

If you have already passed Document Evaluation and require the ECA Report you will need to submit a written request to PEBC with the processing fee.

It doesnt say you have to be in pharmacy occupation.
I have so many friends with canadian bachelor in noc 2211 or something else and indian pharmacy degree. They all claimed education points for pharmacy being in other occupation.

Hi,
I'm an Industrial pharmacist (3131) working in Formulation R&D (M. Pharm, India). I have got my ECA through WES.

I got to know that Industrial Pharmacist comes under Regulated Jobs, so if I want to work in Formulation R&D or related department in Canada after I get my PR, do I need to go through PEBC and is Licensure required for the job search..

Ur reply will be highly appreciated.
TIA

Hi,

I did my bachelors in Pharmacy from India in 2012. I did not get the pharmacist registration done because I never wanted to work as a pharmacist. Therefore, I finished my masters in pharmacy in 2014 and worked for a healthcare consultancy as an Analyst(corporate job)

Considering that I want to come to Canada and do not intend to work as a pharmacist, shall I get my ECA done through WES which will evaluate my master's degree or should I get my ECA done through PEBC which will evaluate my Bachelors as a professional degree?

Let me know if further clarification is required or if anything is unclear

Thank you for your reply. But the problem is I am not applying as a pharmacist, as my job duties do not match those stated under NOC3131. Rather i am applying under NOC4165 as my primary occupation. And PEBC evaluation is only for applicants applying as a pharmacist NOC 3131.
hi bro, i have same situation like u,i am not applying as a pharmacist, rather i am applying for software as primary occupation. but i want PEBC evaluation for more points. so can i use PEBC eca while applying for CIC.

Thank you

I have done master in Pharmacy from India. I want to evaluate my degree here. So tell me that I have to evaluate from PEBC OR WES, so I can use them for both pharmacy as well as PR.
