Hello friends, I'm a PR in Canada since 2016. I have brought my wife to Canada on a tourist visa. She lives with me now. I'm planning to apply for inland PR for my wife under Spouse PR category. She does not have a birth certificate and in the process of getting a baptism certificate. Anyone here submitted a baptismal certificate instead of birth certificate and do we need to submit original birth or baptism certificate for spouse ? Please let me know.

WHat did you do ? We dont have a birth certificate for my wife and worried. Please let me know.

Hello Experts,

Our application was returned to us, the reason being the missing Birth Certificate. My wife doesn't have her Birth certificate as it was not issued to her. She hails from Ludhiana (Punjab, India). Though, we did add her 10th Class Marksheet and her Voter ID in our application package. The cover letter says that they need the Birth Certificate for Primary applicant and all family members whether or not they are accompanying her.

My questions:
1) What else documentary proof do we need to produce to solve the aforementioned issue?
2) When CIC says they need Birth Certificate of ALL the family members, does it mean they need documents of my wife's parents and siblings as well?

This is the 2nd time our application is returned, please help!

No you don’t need to submit original one but birth certificate must be in English.

For Indians it is not mandatory to submit birth certificate.(When I applied I even hadn't one)Secondary school certificate will be considered instead of Birth certificate.I applied with that. You can check the website. It is clearly mentioned.
