Hello guys i m lovepreet

Just giving an update that I applied for meant resident travel document on December 7, 2017 and I received it on January 8, 2018. So considering all the vacations it took only 18 days for my PRTD to come. Anyone who is waiting for the PRT I would suggest to go to the VFS Delhi office and talk to the concerned personal tell them about the seriousness of your situation and they will help you out.

I applied through VFS Chandigarh and frankly speaking those guys provide the worst service ever because when I applied for my PRtd I asked that it is pretty urgent I need to send some emails to the immigration department could you please provide me an email so the email they provided me was “international.GC.ca “and that was all which was incomplete.I was supposed to travel back to Canada on December 25, 2017 but I have to cancel my ticket and rebook it for January 10. So I would suggest all of you who server or awaiting the PRtd document to please take all of your necessary documents with you as a proof and talk to them in person I can’t sit at home and wait for your PRT to come you have to move yourself.

Best of luck all of u
Thanks for the info.

Are you a new group immigrant?

Ok please keep me informed.
If u get it.
Nd if possible yr email id or contact info.l watsapp or anything will b helpful to keep in touch

I finally receive my prtd stamped with passport on jan 10. I guess with all the holidays involved they actually took 24-25 days. I had to cancel the previous flight and book a new one.

If someone is planning to apply it make sure you book your flight atleast 30 days after your application excluding the holidays.

I am not sure about the the humanitarian grounds cases but I was without my first Pr cArd. Hope this helps.

hello guys,
i am in a same situation too.
need to get PRTD
lost my pr card when i was in canada, now the VFS jalandhar is giving time of 60 days
thinking of going to VFS chandigarh/ delhi for better processing time
but i had another thing in mind as i have the US visa so i was thinking to fly to US then enter the canada via land as it doesn't require the PR card
Has any one tried this route before is that a better idea to go via US or there might be any problem

Recently I got PRTD recently from VFS Bangalore, sharing my experience here.

I was working in Canada on a Work Permit and activated my PR in mid Dec. My vacation plan in India was for one month from Christmas to Jan 20. Since I didn't have PR Card, I had to apply for PRTD to re-enter Canada.

Date Applied (VFS Bangalore - in person) - Dec 28
Date application was sent to Canada Consulate in Bangalore - Dec 28
PRTD Approved/Stamped - Jan 3
Passport Received through Courier - Jan 5

While applying VFS Agent told me that it'll take 10-15 working days to get it. But it just took 3 working days(excluding Jan 1 holiday) to approve the PRTD. I got multiple entry PRTD with 2 years validity (Jan 2018 to Jan 2020).

I had written a cover letter explaining the need for PRTD and it's urgency as I had to get back to work. I had provided docs such as my MSP Receipts, Provincial ID Cards, flight tickets etc.

@roq: Just wondering if you had to register a FIR for your lost PR card and submit a copy with your TD app?

Its been almost 5 weeks and I am still waiting, have no clue what's going on.

I was waiting for my first PR Card. But still I don;t see anywhere in CIC website that we need to submit FIR to get PRTD.
