Hi. The answer would be 1 because your wife is not your dependant in purposes of immigration as she already got PR status. You can’t add your mother as a dependant because the definition of family member on CIC site is spouse/common law partner and any children. Parents can’t be included in the app as dependants.

Hi all. I really need urgent help. So I was originally a Nov. 29 2017 applicant but my application was returned on Friday Jan. 19 and it state that it was returned because the sponsor wasn't properly identified on the IMM1344 application to sponsor form. I looked it over over and his name and informaton is correct and his signature is there. We only put not applicable for the cosigner section because we don't have one.

I'm a Dec 5 2017 applicant but I am pretty sure my application is going to be returned to me.

My husband did not fill out the IMM 5406 form. I see now that on the form it says that both principal applicant and Spouse have to fill out their own copy of this but on the checklist it only says:
Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)
The following person(s) must fill out their own copy of this form: You (the principal applicant), any of your family members 18 years of age or older.

And it is not listed as a doc for both sponsor and applicant on the checklist either.

I guess spouse is your family but I assumed this was just children and my spouse is also my sponsor. Is it still too late to send this in by courier? Or just wait until application is returned?

Edit: I have not received AOR

No, your application won't be returned. It is correct that the sponsor doesn't need to fill his own copy of IMM5406, only PA needs to fill it.

This form is not exclusively for spousal application, and it is for all stream of immigration, so it will require both wife and husband to fill it out, when the sponsor is not wife or husband of the PA.

It is perfectly normal. Nowadays, most cases will receive their AOR1 around 6 to 8 weeks, from the date that CIC received their applications.

Is it mandatory to have spouse name in each of the husband and wife's Indian passport? Will the marriage certificate itself suffice for the spousal sponsorship. Is there any requirement of each spouse's name in the passport for PCC too ? I have already done soft landing once in Nov 2017, and will be going soon back to Canada on PRTD after my marriage. I do not have enough time to add spouse details in both the passports. Moreover even there would be some implications if my passport number is changed due to adding of my husband because the COPR has the already existing passport number attached to it.

Can someone who has experience or aware about such situation please comment.

My application was received on December 8 and I haven't heard a word either. This is beyond frustrating. It seems some of the visa offices close down or go slow for the summer.

You will receive your AOR1 soon. Currently, CPC - Mississauga is processing the applications they received by the end of November, 2017. There is nothing to do with local VOs, because your application is till at CPC-Mississauga. When the time you receive your ARO2, then it is the time that your application is transferred to the local VO.

Hi all, from what I can tell, applying outland is better than inland because of faster processing times. My spouse and I are currently in the U.S. looking to go to Canada soon. Would it make sense to apply outland from U.S., and then for my spouse to visit as a tourist (she already has a tourist visa)? Are there any drawback to this approach? Would it look suspicious if we went to Canada while the mail is inflight? It seems like also there's a possibility to get called for an interview but it's a low probability, I think.

The only problem is the past years in Jamaica the visa office really only does student visas. Let’s hope by next week I hear something.
