Hello Everyone,
I have one query regarding landing in Halifax.
Can I choose halifax as my first destination in canada? In that case My first time immigration procedure will be done in Halifax international airport.. right? But if I choose any route via Toronto or Montreal in that case my immigration procedure will be completed in Toronto or Montreal airport.
Which one is better? Can anyone who already landed in Halifax suggest?

I am planning to start my journey in Halifax in First week of April 2018.

Best Regards,
Shakhawet

Any destination that you could travel to from outside of Canada you can land in. First place you put your feet on Canadian soil will be where you are processed. If you can find a flight directly to the city where you are ending up that will always be better. The landing process can sometimes take a bit of time and if you have a connecting flight, you might miss that. If you have no other way but to connect through make sure you have enough time between flights to land. I had to queue for several hours waiting for a soccer team to clear through... Once I got to an officer the process was fairly simple and quick.

Good luck

Planning to do a soft landing at Nova Scotia this June and apply our PR card when we get there. I have a few questions though,

Can I travel locally within Canada while waiting for our PR card?
If local travel is allowed, I plan to visit my brother in Edmonton. How long can I possibly stay there?
Can our PR cards be shipped to my brother’s address in Edmonton?

Thank you in advanced for your replies!

If you have visa that allows you entry into Canada you can travel anywhere in Canada.
The same would apply to the time you can stay anywhere in Canada. You can stay there as long as your visa permits.
Do not know about address changes for PR card.

Thank you, NetMecca.
Meaning we can travel locally - halifax to edmonton without the pr card?
Also I am asking about the stay as we are under PNP stream, would there be technicalities in terms of places to stay and the duration as well.

Travelling within Canada requires no paperwork. Some form of ID might be useful of course not unlike anywhere else.

I got my PR under PNP in British Columbia and immediately (within a month after getting it) relocated to Halifax, NS permanently, where I have been living ever since.

Unless there are conditions to your PNP PR (which I have never heard of) no reason you cannot travel or move after receiving it.

Not sure if that would count as a condition. Doubt it but suggest you asked someone licensed to answer this question. Immigration consultant or immigration lawyer perhaps. Maybe try to reach out the CIC directly. Sure they will be happy to answer this question.

But as a good Canadian we have to give more respect to province Nova Scotia than any other Province . Because of them we got entry into Canada . They accepted us in their province . At least we have to try and show intend to live and survive if it's not possible then we can request NS govt .

Although NS obviously would like you to stick around, since they did make it possible for your to come to Canada, there is also recognition that Canada does not restrict movement within Canada for PRs and that often life is hard and to survive we have to make hard choices. In the end it all evens out. I got in through BC PNP and yet I am now living in NS.

That said, if you are able to make a life for yourself in NS, it will prove a great place to live. Better weather, nice people, excellent lifestyle. Sure other cities have better job prospects but in most of them (except Vancouver) the weather sucks. And even Vancouver is low on sunshine but at least not as cold.

Before making a choice to leave NS, I would suggest that you give it a good try.

Good luck

If you did not get PR through Quebec, then they will definitely ask you why your POE is Montreal. You will explain them that your destination is Halifax and show them your flight tickets. You will be OK.
