Hi All,

Anyone with experience and advice in having their express entry take longer than 6months would be greatly appreciated.I submitted my documents on the 24th of May 2017 and am still waiting for any update. My current status as follows:

Background check: we are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more infromation.

Final decision: your application is in progress. We will send you a measage once the final decision has been made.

Note that i have passed my medical test.

I am just concerned that it has taken more than 7 months and the status is the same since more than 3 months.

Thanks in advance for your help. I would also appreciate if anyone has a contact number for cic for abroad applicants

Regards

Hi Khalifa,

I am from July17 EE, and am still waiting for the next step. Currently they have asked me for ADR on 2nd Oct and it was submitted on 13th Oct.

Where or how have you understood that yours is on Background check status( is it showing on OASIS, if so under which tab).

For doing your medical, does that mean you have been nominated already?

And what is your NOC?

Sorry to have asked a few questions.

Regards

Hi Jimmy,

Thank you for your reply.

On my cic profile, they have several updates, including medical passed etc. I did not apply for the nominee option, but under the FSW express entry program.i applied with the help of a Lawyer, who was been providing me with continous updates so i am unfortunately unaware of my NOC. I am just concerned that it has taken longer than the required 6 months to receive a PPR. Hope that answers your inquiries.

Good day moonarch,

I have received my CAIPS report in August; however, the final outcome was that i am elgible for express entry and no extra document nor interview is required. As you can see, that is why i am worried since no extra information and interview is required and it clearly states that i am eligible for express entry.

Thanks for your fast reply and hope that my response clears any of your inquiries

Yes, you can order GCMS Notes.
My application took 8 months. Unfortunately, my file was kept aside for more than 3-4 months instead of sending PPR.

Good day,

Unfortunately i heard by some that this is usually the case. But would ordering the CAIPS teport help the file get back on track or it is irrelevant.

And thanks again for your reply.

Some files do take longer than 6 months, and there is no need to worry about. What matters is that you have to know where your application is at. All application go through the following stages:

R10
Criminality
Medicals
Eligibility
Security

If your application has passed eligibility, you are 90% through. Most applications are stuck at security, and nothing much can be done about it.
