But to be on safe side, I am going to apply for restoration of worker status. I would recommend the same.

What is the procedure to apply for the same? Even my work permit is expiring on Sep 5

If you workpermit is expiring on Sep 5. You are already having legal status in Canada . I don't think you need to apply for anything.

I do not know why would they keep the passport for over a week post approval.

Can you tell me the exact verbiage against the Final Decision in your CIC Account ?

So, should I wait for my passport to be back by then? And is your work permit about to expire or what are your timelines?

If looking at other people time lines if you feel, you could get back your passport and you are able to the landing before the expiry of your permit you could be fine.

Waiting since July 31. If I had walked from NYC to Ottawa I would have picked up my passport and be back by now.

@spartanjsv no updates so far. Looks like it will take a month to get our passport and COPR.
Did you call CIC to know your status ?

The call thing never worked for me. They put me on hold and disconnect which is annoying . I tried like 7-8 times.

Hi I also have the same timeline.
Called CIC this morning and the lady said it is in line waiting for them to print the CORP.

no Update yet. folks from 10 to 12 July have the application approved since 1-2nd Aug and didn't get the passport. I think we should see update soon maybe 9 or 10th of this month. fingers crossed
