Visa on old passport

Hello,
I need a help, i am planning to apply for a single entry TRV for me and the family to canada, my wife and sons passport expires end of november and december 2013. In the mean while we had also applied for there passport renewals.
Now if i get the visa, soon the new passports will arrive so will i be able to travel to canada by using the new passport and attaching the old one having visa to it without any problem?
I need a urgent help as i want to apply ASAP.

The visa is tied to the passport number, it has the number printed on it, so dont think so

Offcourse no issues - just attach the old passport

On which basis, ur family is going to apply for visit visa. Do u have any close relatives in Canada ?
i need some help? which type of invitaion letter u will attach with ur family docs?

NO - u cant travel to Canada with visa in old passport.
Canada dont work like the USA.

What you need to do is complete an application forms an family information with a fee of CAD$ 30 to have the old visa transfer to new passport....

If an expired passport contains a valid visa counterfoil, the counterfoil can still be used since the
expiration of the passport has no effect on the visa's validity. Holders of a valid visa may continue

the visa and passport requirements by presenting both the renewed and expired passports
containing the valid visa counterfoil to a BSO when seeking entry into Canada. The Regulations
state that visas should not be issued longer than the validity of the passport. However, due to preIRPA cases, it is possible to encounter visas in expired passports.
It is not possible to "transfer" a valid visa into a new passport. If the holder of a valid visa wishes
to have a visa placed in their new passport or if the passport is deemed ‘not valid' for political or
security concerns, visitors must apply for a replacement visa by submitting a new application and
paying the replacement document fee in accordance with R311(2).
If the applicant wishes to obtain a visa valid for a longer period in the new document, this will
constitute a new temporary resident visa application and any applicable fees resulting from this
new application will be collected. The previous visa will subsequently be cancelled

Well Last month i contact the Canadian High Commission in Port-of-Spain Trinidad and thats the information i was given.

Dunno, switching the counterfoil to new PP is an option AFAIK

Normally, CIC only gives visa till PP expiration, but you can renew PP before and in some cases, visa is given beyond the validity of PP expiry then it can be attached
Rules could have changed recently, but havent read anywhere

Hi,

Is it possible for EE PR single entry Visa as well ?
The case is - My passport expiring May 2018 and has the valid visa. The COPR also has same passport number. If I renew my passport in january 2018 ( before it expires ), can I still do my landing in Canada during Feb 2018 using the new passport but visa from old passport and COPR mentioning old passport number ?
