I have applied online for visitors visa for my parents on June 8th-17. I have already reserved the tickets for my parents for 3July-17. I was wondering if there is hope that I will get my visa application approved and visa stamped in the passport by that time. Anything I should be doing to expedite the process. Closest VAC center for is Los Angles.

Took about 30 days for them to approve my visitor visa. I called CIC and they told me it was being process in the LA VAC even though I live in NY. I doubt they will approve it and stamp it so quick. The stamping took them about 1 week(because of the weekend) + the 30 days so we are talking about 40 days for the entire process. If by any chance you get approved before July, I recommend you to send the passports to the LA Vac since it's the fastest from what I have seen.

I though I was going to get denied because it was taking so long. I have seen other threads where people applied from USA and got PPR in under 1 week but in my case, it took a lot longer. So don't worry until you reach the 1 month mark but I think most likely than not you will have to change the traveling date. I got approved after my scheduled traveling date so they are not going to make a decision based on their traveling date.
