But how long does it take them to send the passport back in case GCkey is showing application status as approved? Does it still take them 5 weeks for them to send it back?

My passport was delivered on 6th April and Application was approved on 7th April. Few other people who have exact same timeline got their tracker updated on 7th April itself.

I know its still too early, and I know I am just getting paranoid about this situation. So pardon me for that.
Hi

Those notes are not always accurate, however, it gives you an idea what stage your file is at. I will share with you what mine say: in process, BGC in process....eligibility in process...and I already received my PPR when I received my Medical Request the same time. Some others had the medical request and had to wait 2 months for the PPR, after that there is a finalization process done on a case by case basis, some may get through quickly because their file maybe more straight forward...but generally the AVERAGE wait is 3 - 5 weeks. Don't frustrate yourself thinking it will come next week and what if it doesn't? Then you'll be frustrated and become worried. Give yourself the longest timeframe which is 5/6 weeks and if it comes before then you will be happier regardless. Instead use this time to be excited to do your pre-arrival plan because this is a serious step in our lives it's not a vacation this is the rest of your life. You're at the end of the tunnel by a few weeks and I know how it feels, trust me, that after such a long journey there is hope and you can't wait you are anxious and you just want to go now, this minutes :):) - me too - in fact all of us here - but my family there put me in check with reality this weekend when they told me that the rules changed again and many that applied had been impacted and had I applied in 2017, I/we may not have a chance because the rules favor pure French persons. They reminded me that I succeeded and the end is near with great news. So I will pass this on to you, relax my friend, one thing is for sure, you're moving to Canada....but have a plan to hit Montreal's runway at the airport and use that wind beneath your wings to continue to soar. Again, Congrats!!!

Hi. I am also planning to apply in next intake. Plz any 1 share ur comments how u people will get in to 5000 slab. If the opening time is 8.30 when should i loged in so that i will able to fillup the mon projext form. Ur kind guidence is requird.
Hello Hassan

Unfortunately, most of us here are the last of the paper based applicants and may not be too familiar with the current system under Mon projet. In addition, we are already holders of the CSQ and have different issues that we share and support at the federal stage. Thus, we in this forum may not be the most accurate to assist with this concern. However, I remember when I was at the CSQ stage the forum that assist me greatly was "QUEBEC APPLICANTS LETS SHARE OUR EXPERIENCE" and could be easily found on the home page. This forum will be more adequate in my opinion.

Dear Bajan4Quebec,

I am currently waiting for MR. Our application is on process Mar. 20 based on online checking. I am from the Philippines. How long should we expect MR? And I would like also to know if it is possible to have the proof of funds in cash instead of bank certificate? Is it safe? What can you recommend? Thanks.

Hi there,

I've just received my CSQ and started filling out the PR application forms. Does anyone know what the national identity document means? The format of my id number should be A000000(0) but the form shows a message of error because of the (). So should I keep them?

Thanks!

Hi

Medical Request can come approximately 4 - 6 months following AoR, some cases can be longer.

Acceptable proof of funds is:

Bank accounts in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;

Cash-able investments in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;
Cash-able fixed deposits in your name of the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner.

Please Note following type of bank accounts are not acceptable.

1.Bank accounts in someone else’s name;

Bank accounts which are joint in your name and someone else (other than your accompanying spouse/common-law partner);
Bank accounts in the name of your spouse who is not accompanying you to Canada ;
Property valuations;
Vehicle valuations;
Jewellery valuations.
In short anything that cannot be easily transferred (liquidated) cannot be used as proof of funds.

What do I need to bring to Canada with me?

You are not required to carry all your funds in cash when you arrive in Canada. You are, however, required to show documentary evidence that you have the funds available (in bank accounts or cash-able investments), and that they can be transferred to Canada.

A port of entry officer in Canada may seek to confirm these funds before granting you permanent residence along with your dependents.

Please Note: Canadian customs regulations require you to declare if you are bringing more than C$10,000 into Canada. If you do not declare, you can be fined, imprisoned or money seized.

Can I borrow the money from someone?

Please note that borrowing money for proof of funds and pretending those funds are yours, when they are not, is misrepresentation because:

– You will be defrauding the Canadian government

– You will be cheating the system which is unfair on other honest applicants – It is also unfair on the Canadian welfare system when you arrive in Canada with borrowed money which is not yours

– It is unfair on yourselves to put further strain on what will already be a financial struggle.

CIC explicitly say

“You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your dependents after you arrive in Canada. You cannot borrow this money from another person”

Do I need to show 6 months balance?

CIC does not necessarily require you to show a six months balance. You only need to show the current available balance in your account (e.g. using a bank statement or a bank certificate)
