Got an ITA when I did not expect it, now I don't know if I have time to prepare

I have applied from India, my score was 450 around this time last year and I was confident of getting an ITA, and then suddenly scores started to go up. I can hardly describe how disheartened I was. I gave up on Canada. Now my situation is that my company is sending me to Germany in 2 months. I can stretch it to three months, but I have to go because I fought for this position in my company. I even sat on the ITA for two weeks not doing anything. Finally I have decided to go for it. I am trying to understand the process after getting an ITA, and I have these questions

1) It seems the process will still take about 6 months. I am worried, how will I complete this from Germany. I can try to do as much as I can in next 2-3 months. But as I understand they will ask for my Passport at some time, and if it is 3 months from now I will be in Germany most likely. Will they want me to be in India?

2) Apart from passport, what else am I missing in this equation (3 months in India, 3 months in German)

3) Do I need to inform Canada about change of address?

Look, my advice it go with ITA and go to Germany as well. as far as I could understand you will be back in India by the time they ask for your passport. If not, they most likely you can contact CIC and tell them that you will send your passport from Germany. Maybe you can also include this in LOE.

although try to collect some other opinions.

I am going for it, but I will be in India for next 2-3 months, and then not be able to return for at least 6 months. I wrote 3 months in India, 3 months in Germany, assuming a 6 month process.

Other than Passport, does Canada send/receive anything by regular post? If I can complete PCC, and Medicals in next three months, do I have to worry about anything other than the passport process?

You will only need to send your passport when you are approved at the end and you will be able to swap and send it to the consulate where you are at the time.

90 days should be plenty of time to complete the application.

Apply and inform CIC of your address change after submitting your application

It seems the score is going lower and lower. Why not just decline it and wait until you come back from Germany? you still have plenty of chances getting ITA again.

Declining an invitation to apply
If you decline an invitation, you will be put back into the Express Entry pool of candidates (as long as you still meet the minimum criteria) to be considered in future rounds of invitations.

You may have to take steps to be considered again for the pool. For example, if you got additional points for a job offer but the job is no longer available to you, you may need to get another job offer. Or, if you got married or entered into a common-law relationship, you will have to update your Express Entry profile.

There is no guarantee that you will be invited to apply again. But, if you choose to re-enter the pool, declining an invitation will not have a negative effect on whether or not you could be invited to apply later.

If you do not decline an invitation and you do not apply within 90 days, the invitation will expire. You will have to complete and submit a new Express Entry profile and be accepted to the pool again to be considered in future rounds of invitations.

To re-enter the pool, you must complete a new profile and meet the minimum criteria.

Don't decline the ITA. Submit your eAPR before you go to Germany. Once you go to Germany, send a cse stating the change in your address. Once you get PPR, you can opt to send it to the authorities in Germany or leave Germany and do it in india.

Once provincial nominations get to speed, score may go up.

First of all, thanks for all your answers people. I'll appreciate if someone can answer these questions as well.
  • Is there any document (other than passport) that is sent to my address by CIC?

  • Assuming I submit my eAPR today, on an average, how long will it take before my passport is request?

Oh no, there is no way I am declining the ITA. I have watched scores go up, and stay up for painful amount of time. I am not sure what CSE is? Can you please elaborate on that. Going to India does not seem to be an option, I am going on an important Intra Company transfer.

Processing time is 6 months so anytime within 6 months from the date you submit your eAPR. CSE is a case specific enquiry which you send through the webform.

Is it possible to ask my question about change of address now (before accepting ITA) through CSE?

In my opinion I would say accept the ITA. Do all the groundwork in India, interms of medical, PCC and proof of funds. The request of passport is in the last stages of the processing. Plus it doesn't sound like your gonna be in Germany beyond 6mths so I don't see where you would need to inform about your address. Like the previous response stated send your passport from wherever you are with an LOE. Most communication is done via your IRRC account and email notifications. Thats my take
