"Provide details of any trips [NAME] has taken outside his/her country of origin or of residence in the last ten years (or since his/her 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago)"

If I've been in Canada on a work permit, and working during the last couple of years, is that considered my country of residence?
And if I left at any point to visit my country of origin, do I need to list that trip?

And if either case is true or not, which trip do I list? Leaving country of origin to come back to Canada, or leaving Canada to go back to country of origin? Or both?

Cheers!

I'm not an expert, but have you been there for more than 10 years? Otherwise, you should list the first time you landed in Canada, and then all subsequent trips out of canadá.

Just list everything which you needed to use your passport to go and come back.

If you are in Canada with a work permit, then you are a temporary resident, and you won't have to disclose your time in Canada.

You also won't have to disclose the time you spent, or the trips you took, to your home country.

Any other trips that you took needs to be entered in your travel history. Doesn't matter where you went there from, if said country is not your home country or Canada, it needs to be entered.

Thanks for the replies!

Just being meticulous here cause I don't want them to be able to refuse the application for any dumb reason.

So if I say left Canada to go to USA for a week then came back to Canada, I should only list the outgoing flight from Canada and not the return? Would they then work out where my country of residence was at the time?

Thanks again!

If you would like, if might be a good idea to consult with someone with a more thorough understanding of the process here.

What I am entering in my application is, for example, if I left for USA from Canada on January 29, then returned to Canada on February 5, I enter a trip from January 29 and February 5, input USA as the country, and state the purpose of visit.

You need to identify between what days you were in said country, so regardless of where you went from your trip, specify the end of your trip.

Is this true? We don't have to list trips to our home country? If so, that would simplify my travel documents immensely. But my understanding is that we had to list every trip outside our country of residence (in my case, Canada), even if it's back home. Can any seniors confirm?
