Refugee Applying for PR

Hi all, I have submitted my documents for PR application through mail and now the waiting game. I heard from several refugees in Canada that PR application may take 1 year or even more. My question is can we link paper application to myCIC account online? Because what I see is "Permanent Residence Card" is that the same as PR or that's the next step after getting your PR?

you won't be able to link your pr application until you receive an email from CIC telling you that they have received your application and they will provide you with file/case number.

Does anyone know how long until they send me a confirmation email from the moment I submitted my application?

depends on each case..usually 4-5 months
