I am flying tonight and got a doubt that do I need to get an ETA? I have PR visa but not the PR card in hand yet?

What I understand from your question is that you are going to Land in Canada first time over PR Visa. In that case you don't need ETA.

"New entry requirement now in effect: visa-exempt foreign nationals need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to or transit through Canada. Exceptions include U.S. citizens and travellers with a valid Canadian visa. Canadian citizens, including dual citizens, and Canadian permanent residents cannot apply for an eTA."

but I still dont have a PR card... so I am still considered as valid Permanent resident?
