Delaying the process after ITA

Hello everyone,

As far as I understand, after I receive ITA, the whole process will be completed in six months top. Is there a way to make this process longer? And after everything is ready, when do we have to enter Canada?

6 months starts from R-10 check where your submitted application and is marked as complete by CIC. ITA is just invitation to apply.

Dont pay RPRF upfront and u have to enter Canada before your medical expire

Correct me please if I am wrong.

1) If I get an invitation from OINP, it does not mean I have an ITA, but it guarantees that I will be chosen at the next EE draw (+600 points).
2) If somehow I am chosen from the EE pool, that means I receive an ITA.
3) At this point, I should prepare all the documents (police records, proof of work experience etc) and fill the e-APR within 60 days. (Here there can be 2 months delay)
4) I will receive R-10 check and if there is no problem, then I am not sure what happens after this point. Will I just wait 6 months?

If everything is approved, you will have to land before exactly 1 year from when your medical exams were completed. Your application could be approved within a week and that will still give you 51 weeks before you have to move. Otherwise your COPR will become invalid and you will have to complete the process again.

Correct; most drawers are in the 470 range. There hasn't been a > 600 one for about a year now.

Essentially yes. You get an email saying you can now apply and have the 60 days as you've mentioned.

Yes; though if you need say a FBI clearance that takes 4 months. So get it sooner. Get police checks for anywhere you've lived for about 4-5 months plus as the CIC is really liking to request ones for people at the moment for < 6 months. I'd also try to get started on anything else you think will take time, work experience from previous companies can be time consuming.

The wait time varies, it's about 80% of people who get it within 6 months. Some people get it in just a few months, some people it takes longer.

You wanted to know about making in longer? You generally have 1 year in which to land as a PR in Canada after your medical. So if you do your medical say... 45 days after your ITA it doesn't really matter when you get your COPR (confirmation doc) as your landing date will be about a year from the medical date.
