buddy take it easy. its not easy for someone to return where he came from. please show some guts and if he has been through tough situation we need to help him morally or whatever way we can. even his story and experience is helping others so they know in advance what to expect. he must have come to canada with all his life savings and after spending 10 years how can somebody return. our fellow friend just needs a moral boost up. good luck to him.

Buddy, please allow the poster answer the questions i ask him or defend his point of view without interference.
If he is with immigration restriction groups i am not one inclined to help him morally, because he takes less than stellar path of defending his point of view.
There are better ways and arguments to rationalize controlled levels of immigration (i think i mentioned it in one of my answers to Wayne) , but inventing bogus tales is not one of them.

Maybe 200 years from now Canada will issue a formal apology for what it did to immigrants in the fashion they honored the Chinese workers building the railway or the injustice to the Japanese.

What I know for sure is, no one here will be mad at me for misleading him/her like I was to other people.

There is a lot of enthusiasm around here and I do not want to sound negative and discouraging.

Yet there are things you need to know.

The score based skilled class immigration system is a bogus one and it is not based on any real job demand numbers. What you will find out is, your skills and experience will not count for much and you will have a difficult time competing with the unemployed Canadian professionals and other immigrants that came here before you and are still struggling.

The reason Canada is going to accept another 500,000+ people in 2011 is they are expected to bring their savings with them.

If you are ready to spend the rest of your life in a factory as a regular employee toiling for $10-12/hour then you will be fine and may even be able to get a bit up the ladder. If, however, you come with the hopes of landing a job in your field in the first 5 months or even a year, this is extremely unlikely to happen, unless you are a real prodigy.



You are wrong my friend, Canada has the best immigration policy and system.You must have ability to find the job and you will get job.It depends how smart are you .No employer will offer you a job at airport you have to find it

Because, I do not believe I am to blame for my situation. The big difference between demand and supply of workforce cannot be the result of a human error, it is rather a plot!

If everyone turns back when they find out about it, who will be fighting the fight?

I still am! For the amount of time I have spent in this country I have probably consumed more government funds than the taxes that I have paid. But that does not make me happy, many battles were won, the war was lost.


There was an interesting case in Canada a few years ago. A Chinese immigrant beheaded a passenger on a bus. If you read the guy's biography you may get a good idea of what may have caused him to flip.

We are really sorry about your situation. But don't lose hope as you have already indicated. You'll soon get a good job. Keep on trying.

I am sure , that every one needn't be discouraged by your experience. Some fields might have demand in the job market and some not. And we may find some areas have a better demand for certain fields.

You revealing your real life experience would be very much beneficial to the readers of this forum and future immigrants. Thanks a lot for that.

1) I feel you are into Engineering. What field of Engineering are you into
2) Where were you previously located when you were doing your Engineering job and where are you currently located in Canada?
3) What are your Qualifications before coming to Canada and your job experience ?

I hope answering the above questions would help us all to better understand the situation.

The intension of sharing his story seems to be to discourage people coming to Canada. if he is posting genuine, he would have been somewhere else or will be leaving Canada soon . You are asking me the same question twice and both times you do not come across as very civil.

I am in Canada and as I mentioned I have been here for the past 9-1/2 years.

To me survival is not related to your physical existence. I do fine there. It is really tough on my mind and soul.

Immigrants are basically faced with many of the difficulties soldiers encounter as occupiers. It is hard to read the minds of people, difficult to tell what they think, even more difficult to joke with them.

Your only belief and hope is that you offer knowledge that is going to be valued and appreciated and it will put you among people that you understand better. Since, as I already mentioned, the score based system is deceiving, most of you will have to work with teenagers that smoke marijuana and use F* and S* words on a regular basis. You will tough it out for a month, two a year or even two, but just like a soldier your mind will suffer.

It is not a matter of how strong YOU are. It is a matter of opportunities. Just because all 2,000,000 unemployed people in Canada are well educated, young and committed to succeed does not mean they will succeed. There are only so many jobs out there. I hope you get my point.

If you are in Canada for 10 years then you should help this forum member by giving advice on how they can can settle in Canada and Steps they need to take while migrating this country...

One of my friend who recently migrated here in Canada started complaining that too many people are coming to canada nwdays and he also suggested that government should stop this...hmmm ..he secured his status and nw he want security ..To live in this world you need to fight...

Ok gonna share my experince with you guys, i landed in Canada on July 2007 and applied for refugge, the process started and mean while i got my work permit, i don´t know if i am a lucky person but i got a job in a decent company at the store department, when i was there i showed everybody that i was an IT, also i speak Spanish, so i use both skills to do my job.

6 months later i was promoted to the Planning department, and there also i tried to show my skills, 7 moths later my boss and the vicepresident offered me another job at Tech. Pubs where i made a software solucion for the company.

My refugee status was denied and i had to leave Canada, now the company made everything they could to bring me back ASAP, i am almost ready to go back, and i will be making 50 grants with all the benefits (Health for me and my family and insurance for all of us.....).

And with the probability of making even more next year without counting with the money my wife can make.


I think is you aptitude what really opens doors in Canada, you have to show who you are, what you can do and beleive me you can go really high.

Don´t give up keep trying and you will get it.

Canada is a capitalist economy. If you have skills people need, and they feel they can work with you, you will definitely get work. You just need to be diligent and keep at it until you meet those people.
