1) Have any and all cash in Canadian currency on hand. If you have receipts from the foreign exchange transaction, have them on hand.
2) If you have more than $10,000 CAD in cash, MAKE SURE TO DECLARE THIS AMOUNT.
3) Have documents from your bank- such as certificates for fixed deposits, bank statements, and any accompanying documents such as gift deeds, that demonstrate that you have access to the required amount of money, and that this access is unencumbered, since the funds are liquid, and are not counteracted by any direct liability on them (i.e. you haven't borrowed this money, and don't have to return it).

I was thinking about bringing around 2-3k CAD + show a bank statement/letters showing I still have the same funds (+more) I showed when applying.

Then you'd be set! Just make sure to declare all of it to be safe- rather have a little longer processing time at the border than any trouble. Also make sure to keep your receipts from when you trade in your local currency for Canadian currency- just in case trade of foreign exchange is regulated in your country.

I landed on 4th feb. i was asked by immigration officer about funds . since i was carrying less than 10k cad. she insisted me that i need to have 10k as settlement funds. she didnt ask for any proof but just asked if I have this much to settle in canada.

She was very polite and helping.
