Does anyone know if LVO wants a prepaid envelope, or is a regular envelope with just my address on it (no stamps or anything) fine? I'd send a Canada Post prepaid envelope with tracking, but those are really expensive ($60+).

Spreadsheet update: COPR finally arrived (19.1.16)

It took almost 7 weeks and it only came after I had to email the LVO Operations Manager.

If anyone is ever in the same situation as I was in (DM but no sign of COPR or information received) I strongly recommend emailing her.
Congratulations! What a relief

I found her name easily by searching on Google and then it's firstname.surname@international.gc.ca
Hey man, congrats on the recent COPR. When are you landing? I've been waiting for almost a month now!!!

Who was it you emailed - I have my MP on the case now but I'm honestly not sure they know what they're doing or who to email (I know you mention firstname.surname but who is that?) Thanks any help appreciated

Hi there,

Here's an update on my situation:

"Decision Made" status appeared online on December 15, 2015

I received my COPR document on January 15, 2016.

I am currently living in Vancouver, and as I understand it, I have to now go to the US border to activate this PR status. Does anyone know if I need to bring my Canadian wife with me for this, or is it okay that I go alone?

Thanks a lot to all those who maintained the spreadsheet. Good luck to those who are still waiting on their PR to come through!

Hi Taffy

It looks like your application took quite a while, ours has been 17 months so far. Do you have any advice to get the process moving.

Thanks
Matt

Unfortunately my application just went in at the wrong time. I ordered my notes many times and tried to fix the problems with my application. E.G they lost some of our application witch i was able to correct . I had my MP involved bu didn't do a lot of good. Hang on it can' be much longer.

KForry - I assume you have emailed London Visa Office asking for clarification? They're often bad at answering emails, but it's worth a try. Personally I'd try to send another set anyway, with the back stamped clearly. I can't imagine what else they'd want, unless they are still expecting photos according to the old specs for some reason.

Over a month gone since DM for me now and no COPR... I sent another email to LVO on Friday, this time with "Urgent" in the subject line. No reply yet. I don't want to bother my MP yet as I asked them for help with my co-op work permit just last week, but if I don't get the COPR this week, I may have to shoot the MP's assistant another email. So frustrating!
Update;

Received an email today that stated the photos I had been sending were, in fact, correct and to spec, but the letter and link that CIC had sent me had conflicting info, and they would update their correspondence for the future. They told me this was due to the change in specs, so it seems the issue was not my photos, but some foul up at their end.

Now just wait and see...

Good news! My COPR arrived in the post on the 18th January.

Was a bit worried because it took so long to come but it's here now and will be landing soon.
:) :)

Congratulations to all those who have their COPR after applying in 2015. I'm a 2014 and gave still not received mine. I'm fed up with this country and have decided to return to Ireland. The institutional racism and backward thinking not to mention the redneck mentality among people in Alberta has led me to believe that Ireland and in particular the North of Ireland isn't such a bad place to bring up kids after all. I told my two children tonight that we were returning home at the end of February and their eyes filled with tears of joy. To those who decide to stay I sincerely hope that things work out for you and that you are content with your life choice. I've had my eyes open and seen sides of people I never thought I would. My wife is Canadian born and raised and I have never seen her more happy when we made the decision to return home. She can't believe what her country and city has become. Don't believe the hype folks. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Beal Fierste- perhaps as you have already received DM and are so close to COPR, you should at least wait it out, do your landing and then make a decision? You must have applied for a reason and it has taken you this long,it would seem a shame to throw it away right before Copr. At least if you get Copr first, then you have it, it's done and you have the security of knowing if you and your family change your mind and choose to remain in Canada, then you can.

And Canada is a big place-maybe you could try living in a different place instead of where you are now....

You and your family have come a long way and waited a long time, I'm just suggesting you get your copr first and then at least you have the option to change your mind without regret. . ..

However, whatever you decide, I wish you and yours all the best!

Spreadsheet update: COPR received January 19, 2016
Submitted November 2014 - so took 14 months total.

He applied for a Open work Permit about half way through and it was granted so he has been working for the past 2 months so that was a huge relief at the time. Nice now to just know there will (should) be no more hassles at the airports and borders!

What do we do now with the Paperwork? do we have to get to a Canadian Border and re-enter into Canada? do we have to be there together? will he get a residency card or something in his passport? Not sure what to do now! lol
