Dear all,

I have few urgent queries if you guys do not mind answering.

My spouse recently arrived in Canada on Visitor visa and going to apply for Spouse work permit on basis of my NOC B job. I am on Post Graduate work permit visa.

We are submitting online application.

1) where we need to submit my offer letter explaining my duties to confirm that I work in NOC B. We got a document checklist in my spose MyCIC account and there is no option to submit this document except an option of Letter of Explanation. Shall we upload it in this option?

2) My husband lived in India for 6 months in last one year and he is intended to work in Canada for more than 6 months. does he need to undergo medical?

Regards
1. Yes use the letter of explanation field. If there is too much info in this one document, you might consider adding a cover page.

2. Yes he needs to undergo medicals for work permit

My wife is here on a WP (NOC 0213), LMIA exempt. I have applied for an OWP from within Canada. Been more than 2 months now. Is it normal for such long waiting times?

I think it is such a wasted opportunity for Ontario government to have the opportunity to get more tax.

As you can see here
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp

Time lines are currently around 99 days to 117 depending upon if you submitted on paper or online.

These used to be around 2 months until early 2015 but since then have only increased. So right now it is perfectly usual - rather the norm.

Hi everyone,

Wanted to share that we finally received PPR for my spouse in Pakistan :)

CIC exactly took 6 months for PPR.

Hope everyone who is waiting gets their PPR soon.

Are you already in Canada? It is possible for your partner to submit it through him. you just need to fill up and sign the representative form. but you can also make your own online profile.

The first thing is that if you are not already in Canada, and your partner is - it would be hard to prove common law.

Because you need to have proved living together for at least a year to qualify for common law.

Your question sounded like your partner is in Canada but you are not.

The other thing is that PGWP alone is not enough for your partner and kid to be eligible for SOWP and child resident trv.

He needs to be working on a skilled job NOC 0, A or B and provide enough detailed proof (letter of employment clearly showing his duties and compensation) for you to be eligible. Else you would be refused, irrespective of where you apply.

Hello,

Can anyone please guide me how to submit passport at a VFS for visa stamp?

Thank you and have a good day !

- Subtain
Congrats Subtain. 6 months is still a great timing for PR. I don't know what would be different for sending passports now with VFS. I imagine you still go to them in person show your PPR and they would accept it and give you a tracker. Pretty much similar to how it used to be before with Gerry's or TCS's passport service. Except that Gerry's was more thorough and return tracking was much more secure.

Hi

My husband is on work permit and he is working as a service representative (Foreign Exchange Dept) for a bank and im planning to apply for open work permit but we are not sure in which NOC my husband falls under .
His job description is "Fulfill routine and occasionally non-routine transactions, internal business partner and/or external customer

inquiries/ requests, and/or audit/ reconciliation activities efficiently and effectively in accordance with Bank and

industry standards, focusing on up to a one-month time horizon. Follow procedures to resolve standard and

relatively straightforward internal business partner and/or external customer inquiries requests

non-routine issues to more senior team members and/or manager."
I wanted to know his NOC basing on his job description and if in case if he donot fall under NOC 0 A or B is there any other source to apply for open work permit.
Can anyone help me with this.
Please help me its urgent :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

This is a bit of a close call. But it can be any of following NOCs

6235
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/ProfileQuickSearch.aspx?val=6&val1=6235&val65

6552
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/ProfileAlphabetic.aspx?val=6&val1=6552

Which group it falls in, can be seen here.
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/html/matrix.html

6235 looks NOC B where as 6552 is NOC C.

Generally, if the job you are doing requires a University degree it would be a skilled job (NOC 0, A or B).

In case he doesn't hold a skilled NOC then you either need a provincial nomination or a permanent residence application passed first stage approval to be eligible for SOWP.
