Yes, i could happen during the test if the cic agent is not confident with the information you gave him or has doubts about your application. They can give it to you in test day or right after...
Oh wow, right at the last moment? That must be stressful for anyone. Wouldn't it be better if they made the RQ decisi before that, during the processing step before the test invitation? They have all the information since they received it in the mail, it's odd that they would wait so long to do RQ decision. Maybe I'm missing something to this formula?

It is correct to, happens sometimes that people receive RQ at the start of their application processing well before the test. Sometimes it does happen during or right after the test.
One advice I can give you is to take a max of supporting docs with you to the test. Sometimes they don't want to see the docs you want to show them then, rather they will tell you they will contact you if they need any further info (which is most of the time an RQ!).
My wife did this at the time of her interview, she was home student (diploma equivalence) and the agent was doubtfull about her being all this time in Canada. She then flown out of her bag a banch of docs (rental, car lease, healthcare visits dates...). The agent did not want to take anything at 1st, but then took few of these docs.

We are pretty sure she avoided an RQ just with that. She is now a canadian citizwn since few months :)

Oh wow, that's very odd, why would they not trust her and give her an RQ? What information was suspicious for them to do that? Also, does a layoff, unemployment, and/or receiving welfare give them reason to not trust someones application? Reason for them to give an RQ? I wrote down that information originally to them in my application long ago. Also, I have dental records for braces, a health card, papers showing my interest in joining the Canadian military, welfare records showing time period I was laid off, my taxes I filed past 3 years, and employment records. I don't have a lease record or phone, i use free wifi at cafes with my old tablet. I could not afford it in my budget. I pay cash to landlord, month to month, at an affordable cost. Any advice with this scenario? Also, congrats to your wife! :)

Also, I take the citizenship test october 1st, but I dont know the location of where I'm supposed take it. Are they supposed to physically mail me the test location? The CIC website only told me october 1st at 1:30pm. I'm quite worried right now.

Humm, yep, you should have received by now a physical letter by Canada post telling where and when to attend this test, this would be your official invit. Give CIC a call to enquire about this.

Well this is their process, I guess if they notice anything or are doubtfull about something they will require more information from the applicant. I don't take it personnal, it's just their procedures and we need to be ready for that. I don't think unemployment will trigger an RQ by itself, but being unemployed with no walfare and nothing to show you were around might make the agent want to dig around.

Do you have any rental contract with your land lord? You can also make him write a statment saying you are renting his flat since xxx and regularly paying for it. Clinic visit records, credit card bills showing you are bying stuff around, electricity bills... I think I read in the past where you said you are from the US, did you get your entry/exit report from the US border control ? This is not exhaustive but might help during the interview...

And who knows, you might just fly through this interview and everything will be fine and you will not need any of these :)

I have welfare during my unemployment period, so I could ask the welfare office to print out my records perhaps for proof. The landlord I used to have during my residency claimed time is no longer my landlord anymore. I strictly paid him cash month to month. I also have records of my employment, my taxes for past 3 years, dental records. Maybe I should ask my bank for a 3 year transaction history printout of some sort? Maybe that's a good idea? And yes I'm from New York, USA. Also, I visited my family very recently, and I asked the border officer at the USA side if I could get records of all my entry exits from USA. The border officers told me I don't need to do that, because the records are shared between the USA and Canadian governments. Does that even sound correct? They claim I dont need to have all my stamps either, maybe they're crazy? Haha! I never left Canada once though, from March 4th, 2012 through April 28th, 2015. That is the 3 plus year time period I filed for on my online residency calculator a while back. So the only stamp I ever had "recent" was my entry into Canada on March 4th, 2012.

I would love to fly right now, may I borrow your wings? :p :p

Lol, I prefer to keep my wings for my test (if it comes one day...)

Although you moved from where you used to live, you don't have your rentral contract ? Try to contact him to make him sign a statment if possible. better to get credit card statment than bank statment (although bank statment is better than nothing). Anything you can get with you could help...who knows.

I never had a rental contract with my previous landlord, it was a cash payment every month, not bound to a lease of any type, I could leave on the 1st of any "next month". Yes, I'll get the banking statement, or maybe a debit statement since I use that often. I just got my physical letter in the mailbox for test invitation. I have to take the test and get some sort of interview with a citizenship officer. I'm confused about bringing my original documents I used to do my checkist. That would include my original citizenship application? My original receipt of payment for paying processing fee? Etc. I'm reading their request for all original documents from checklist very literally, so I'm confused now.

I did my test on September 4th. After the test, we (my husband and I) were called into a room to be interviewed by a citizenship officer. It seemed everyone was being called similarly that day. He asked to see originals of our documents - this was our PR cards and other forms of ID we had included with our application. We did not need our application forms or receipt of payment. He then went through our list of absences carefully and checked our passport stamps. We did not have stamps to match each of our absences (our passport does not get stamped when we go back to our home country) so he could not use the passport to verify these. He requested more evidence of the trips that were not accounted for in our passports. To this end, he accepted printouts of emails confirming our flight bookings. He basically was looking for something that indicated we were in Canada up to the point we said we were. He suggested a letter from our doctor indicating any appointments we had during that time or credit card statements showing use in Canada, records from an employer or somewhere we volunteered. The key is being able to show that we were physically in Canada at that time. He then told us the results of our tests and sent us on our way. It was straight forward but I was glad I had brought extra information about our flights with me.

Also, I note that the CIC website says it is updated every Tuesday but my status was updated on Monday September 7th (Labour day!!) and again on Thursday September 17th. That doesn't mean anything but I thought it was interesting :)

I hope this information helps. I definitely think bringing extra information you don't need is much better than risking not having what they need!

Has any of April applicant from Calgary received Test Invite ???
If only there was something with that type of data available... like a public time sheet or something...
Then anybody could check that kind of information without having to ask questions!
Wouldn't it be nice?
