First of all, congrats to everyone who receive PPR or CoPR in the meanwhile!

To the less fortunate here, stay strong, your time will come!

Regarding the issue with the Quebec Health Insurance Card (RAMQ):

I just called them :) first of all, our current card remains valid. You will have to call RAMQ 1-800-561-9749 in a timely manner after you receive your CoPR and did the landing. they will ask your address here in Quebec and some other questions to confirm your identity. have your current card ready as well.
you will receive within 7 - 10 working days a new form. you will have to take a new photo, then bring the filled form, your CSQ, and your CoPR to a CLSC or an office of RAMQ. this will result in receiving your new card. for the time being, your current card will remain valid :)

if you have further questions, let me know.

have a nice day!

It's been over a month since my application went "In process," and still no update whatsoever. I'm getting really worried. Are there other September applicants in the same situation?

I passed by RAMQ in downtown yesterday. I had my COPR, CSQ, passport and current lease. They asked for all of them. He processed them, gave me a paper to sign, asked to head to another booth where they took my photo, and that was it. And as Rebetha said, the guy said it will take 7-10 days and the current card is still valid (and still with me).

So I got back from vacation on Sunday and sent my passport to CIC on Monday. It reached there yesterday and now I am waiting for my return tracker to activate.
In the meanwhile I have a question for those who have successfully landed. How was your experience with US border police. What did you say to them and how much time it took before you were sent back to Canadian side?

If you have US visa, you dont even need to tell them anything since you're allowed to enter the states. In my case, I went in and spent the day in Burlington, VT and then landed on my way back. However, if you don't have a visa, you'll need to tell them that you're here because you need to do your landing. They will give you some paper that you were rejected entry to the states (that will only count as some kind of "administrative" rejection, that is, if you apply for future visas or the like, you don't mention this really as a rejection to enter a country). Once they give you the paper, they will tell you in which direction to go so that you end up turning back to the Canadian border point. All the best with your landing!! :)

What jad_montreal said :)

Also, check out earlier posts on this forum. I just did the landing myself and posted a description about 2 weeks ago. Other people have done the same recently, so just check it out.

My general impression is that for the better part of immigrants, the landing via the U.S. land border goes smoothly. Just have all the necessary documents ready (depending on your case, but at least CSQ, CoPR, passport), be nice and considerate, answer all questions truthfully, and enjoy the experience.
Good luck and let us know how it went :)
