hey , wondering If someone could help me

so I told my work that I will be going home soon as my visa is up and for some dumb reason my job isn't findable on the noc code website, like no joke, cant find anything that matches it 70-80% of the duties

they then offered to sponsor me

my only issue is , is this doable? they say its been done before but I though the only way to sponsor is through and lmia? that takes weeks to receive? I only have two months left on my visa, is there another option for sponsorship?

its not even going through hr, its going to the very top of the company,. the ceo has to basically sign off on it. (she gave it the go ahead today)

I know these are questions I could ask at work but the vp who gave it the go ahead today was working from home so I couldn't ask

my boss jest said they got the ball rolling and its been done before

any thoughts? I don't want to get my hopes up..

I really don't think an lmia is possible in 7 weeks... does an lmia give you extra years to stay WITHOUT applying for pr?

I'm curious, what's your job?

LMIA is pretty much the way forward, unless your job is exempt or you are in a province where you can apply for PNP with a valid job offer (if any of them are still offering that option - I haven't looked).

no it doesn't. LMIA is the only way they can sponsor you, and you're right, it probably won't be through in 7weeks. But if they apply for the one with the work permit, if its approved you can just activate the work permit that comes with it and wait then for PR.
