Keep in mind, this is for the province of Ontario.
Each province have their own transportation and driving regulations.

Bringing your Valid Pakistani driving license and verification letter of the same license helps in almost every province.
1: in ONTARIO Two year old Pakistani license and its verification letter from the same licensing authority will grant u 24 months driving experience and u will be eligible for the G license means no waiting time for road test or license. If license is 1 year old they will give 12 months experience and u will be eligible for G2 license but would be able to drive with some restrictions. Its worth bringing in your Valid Pakistani Driving license and its verification letter.

2: similar experience is given in Alberta as well.

Please Bring Valid driving license not the expired. if one has 18 0r 20 year old driving license but it is expired its of no use.
Bringing verification letter saves money as going to get it from Pakistani Counselete in Toronto will cost u around 100-120 CAD.

Come back in 7 months and ask the same question, we should have more information by then.
I am just slightly ahead of you. It's a waiting game now.
Although, you could use some free time to have Canadian residents sign the petition below in the signature.

We received our sponsorship approval on 30 July 2014. We haven't heard anything after that. Yes it is hard but we have to wait .

Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

Hello Everyone,

New to this thread and I don't mean to sabotage the ongoing discussions. But hoping some of you can advise me on my situation.

I'm a PR and IA will be getting married next month in the US. My fiance is a Pakistani citizen currently in the US on an h1b visa which is expiring this June. She also has a visitor visa to Canada based on which she is planning to join me here in August.

Now in this scenario, would it be better for me to apply Outland right after the marriage next month, or apply Inland in August? Would appreciate recommendations.

Based on going through this forum, i've come to the following comparison between the two:

Outland
Duration: Approximately 11-12 months (but seems like this duration is only increasing)
Pros: Can freely travel to and from Canada
Cons: No work permit

Inland
Duration: Approximately 20 months
Pros: Can get a Work Permit
Cons: Cant travel outside Canada

What's the safer bet in your opinion?
Are there any issues coming to Canada on a visitor visa with an outland application in process?

This really is very stressful, I wish all the best to people going through this.

Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

You need to determine what is a bigger priority for yourself.
It is very difficult to get a visitor's visa while you have an outland application in process.
There are immigration lawyers that give a free consultation. They can give you more insight.

I would prefer outland as she already have TRV Visa and she can extend it prior expiry , she also have gone through all the checks of TRV which will reduce her time for outland application also. Good luck ..!!

Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

I agree with sulemanmirza. Even if they refuse to renew the visitor visa, the worst thing that will happen is she will loose valid visitor status for a small period of time in Canada but can still remain with you while PR app is in process.
Come to think of it again, you are really fortunate.

Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

Thanks Mercy24 & sulemanmirza for your response.

I'm also leaning towards outland. The only thing I'm concerned about is if they will cause any issues in entering Canada on a TRV that was granted before the outland application started. Shouldn't be a problem right?

I'll take your advice Mercy24 and look for some free consultation with a lawyer.

No, they both are different categories immigration and TRV, there is no clause or condition in TRV that it will be revoked if a condition of the person changes..!!
