Than you shouldn't have any problem. Although I would be very careful with the term "fiance" since you mustn't have had a spouse or common-law partner in order to be sponsored by your father. I know that a fiance is not the same, but still, I would be careful...

I am reading in some other older posts on other topics (years back...) that people could send in their police background check later, after they had already submitted the package. Is this still the case? I requested mine from the embassy here in Ottawa, but it seems forever to get it... That's the only thing which is missing (well beside medicals, but I will do that later) otherwise my package is ready. It's quite frustrating...

so I guess in short my question is it it OK to send the police check later if I make a note about it in my application, that it should be expected at a later date? (the embassy set the expectation for 1-2 month and I requested a month ago. So if I send my application now, the latest I could send the police check would be the beginning of April. That's just worst case scenario. I might get it earlier)

Yes, the police check is needed only at the second stage, so you can send an explanation letter instead and send it as soon as you have AOR (it can be easily misplaced without the UCI and file number).

Sophieee, when you say "the whole package" what does that mean? I sent my OWP application with my immigration documents. The only two things for OWP application I have included were application Form IMM5710 and receipt for $155 application fee. Did I miss anything? ???

I have done the same thing, but I looked it up before somewhere on this forum and ppl were saying that only the form with receipt needs to be send... I wish I could find those answers again. Anyways I guess we will just have to wait to find out :

Thank you for the clarification, I edited the post.
Sorry if it was misleading, just wanted to start with the two most common thing I read in the 2013 and 2014 threads: "Wish I knew I could apply outland..." and "Wish I had sent an OWP..."

Someone needs to edit the CIC application online instructions and insert:
1. Apply outland *unless* : (list)
2. Send an OWP with application, even if it it appears you aren't able to, as the rules will likely change by the time your app is processed.

Start gathering all the necessary documents and start to fill out the forms. There are many useful tips in the FAQ, and you can come back here if you have any questions.

We'll be applying inland in June, I'm so worried that it'll take like forever for OWP.

I was also wondering whether the 4 months mean 4 months from when the app was delivered to them or 4 months from AOR. Because in the second case it would mean more like 9 months with AOR taking so long.

Anyone knows?
