Dear all,

I am about to complete sponsorship forms for my child (under 19 age). I have below few outstanding questions, much appreciate if you can provide your input.

1) Does spouse need to be a co-signer when sponsoring my child? Is it recommended? If it does not have any added advantage then I wanted to avoid that as my wife is not here in Canada. (my wife is not working)

2) Fee: Total $150 (75$ for Sponsor + 75$ for child under 19 age, principal applicant) - correct?

3) Do we need to write anything in the backside of the photos? like date or name? I couldn't find any instruction on that checklist or guide!

4) Spousal forms - There are some forms specific to spousal sponsoring, I hope I don't need to include those, I can just skip, correct?. Or do I need to simply print and put N/A?

Thanks in advance

You don't need the signature of a co-signer, but you will
need the approval of the mother of your child back home,
that is part of the process....
this is not spousal sponsorship therefore you can print N/A
or do not include, as they do not apply.
If there is no instructions for the photos to have anything written
you don't have to write anything.
The fees seem to be fine, but you can call CIC calling centre
to confirm: 1-888-242-2100
My questions is why you don't sponsor your wife also ?
you don't have income restrictions to sponsor wife and spouse.
Best thing would be to sponsor everybody at once, that is the
route I would go....

Good luck

1. No, your spouse doesn't need to be a co-signer. There is no added advantage.

2. Yes, those are the correct fees to pay.

3. Follow the directions on your country specific guide for the photos.

4. Write N/A on the checklist for any forms that don't apply.

My wife is already PR. This is our new born that happened to be in India.
Approval from mother? I couldn't see any such requirement, as I mentioned my wife is already PR, do I need to worry about this??

Ignore that advice; it is not relevant to your situation.
