Hi guys,

I landed on Oct 6, and yesterday called to CIC to check when PR card will be sent. I was told that there is 2 weeks backlog and instead of 38 days mentioned on the website i will receive it in 38+14 days, which is Nov 27th in my case.
Not sure if this is true or just a standard answer they give to everyone now...
Let's hope!

Hi Guys,

I landed on 28th September and did not receive my PR card yet. Yesterday, I called CIC and they told to wait till Dec 6th. People who landed on the same day with me, have already recieved their card. Also, CIC had wrong mailing address (my employer's address which I never asked them to use). So, I told them to change. I dont know what they do and why they are so careless. I have to leave for vacation on Dec 6th, Can anybody suggest to get PR card faster / urgently? Thanks

Hi CEClmo777,

Sorry didnt see your post. I dont visit the site often now.

As i mentioned to the person earlier, who asked similar question, nope there is absolutely no clue about the dates on the letter when the card was printed or sent to me. I have checked everything. No date stamps from Canadapost too. Unless there is something in the barcodes, which i have no idea how to decode.

Actually, you dont have to be in a time crunch situation. And pls forgive me, i dont know your exact situation. In most cases, you can leave the country now, yes without your PR Card.

Proceed to your home, wherever that is, and as soon as you get there, apply for the 'Travel Document'. That will enable you to re-enter Canada. You can read more about it below:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/travel.asp

All the best.
thanks infoseeker...

BK11, I landed on sep 25 and waiting for my PR card too. CIC advised me to resend my photos and I just did and now waiting. I have to travel on Dec 26 too. Unfortunately, there is no urgent processing for new PR cards...I have tried all possible ways to speed up the processing but seems there is no way :(

Just called cic. Surprisingly took me only 10 min to reach them. A very nice lady informed me that they will see if there is a problem with pics or anything else only after the date stated on the website. So basically to fu.k off until 38 days pass. So far she said there is very little backlog of a few days which should clear by the end of the week. Also she said to stick to days indicated on the web a week before your supposed day of finalization. Hopefully the end of November will yield some results. Good luck to everyone.

That was fast... does it depend on where you land?

If there is a two-week backlog, why did they change the processing time to 38 days???
