there s a question , i ve applied thru CHC london. they ve given us timeframe of 42-48 months.whereas the current updated site of CIC (Feb 2008) says tht London office took 38 months to process 80% cases.also my brother applied from berlin n he got timeline of 12-18 months whereas CIc site says tht Berlin office took 22 mnths to process 30% cases n 29 mnths for 80% cases. whom we shd believe.i hope the ppl who ve gone thru this process n ve gained PRship may answer better, especially i would like to ve experiences. frm london office applicants.i mean tht r there hard n fast rules tht processing will take 42 months at least or it can happen b4 than tht.also from when shd one start calculating the time, i mean from the date the file was dispatched to embassy, the date we received our AOr or from the date embassy dispatched our AOR.
