Hi everyone.....let's try and do some damage control here.......it's always sad when a marriage is entered into in fraud and unfortunately for us this time it was a Cuban male.......the pakistan and russian marriage scams never made the front page....but this is sensationalism at its best......I have heard of nothing but this all day.....and I worked today and my husband is working tonite and I don't know if he knows about it...and frankly I am not saying anything to him.....we all know these stories entering into our respective relationships and hopefully everyone has no doubts......but honestly I was married before and my husband cheated on me.....is that any better??? It's unfortunate that this bum got in under the old rules but he did and that is why immigration changed the rules....2 years and 5 years....I think it is a good start in a medium position.....not too harsh but not as easy as it was.

Will this make Havana worse....the answer is no, not in my opinion......the interviewers there will remain the same....for every fraudster they let in a real marriage gets put on hold because of a denial....

As long as you have no doubts about your relationship that is the most important thing.....never marry when in doubt!!!!

Morning everyone!!! Wow...what a winter wonderland out there......absolutely gorgeous.......my husband is off today and the boys have a "snow" day and he wanted to know why couldn't I have a "snow" day too!!! Said wish I could baby but I have to go to work. Hopefully I can get off early and surprise him!!!!

i feel sorry for the lady and what happened to her... i am angry that only the bad stiuations get publised
marriage is a risk no matter who when or where the the person comes from ....there are people out there who marry people for all sorts of reasons .....I myself have been messaged texed emailed this story all day yesterday ....even got a text message from a family memeber that said" siting back and waiting to see when this happens to you .....maybe you should have listened to everyone when they told you what you were doing is wrong .....YOU WILL FEEL THE PAIN THIS GIIRL FELT"
i am not even angry or hurt anymore by these things all i do now is laugh at the ignorance of people and the bs that people carry on with .....

;D The day has finally arrived and we're expecting all this snow. Talk about a welcome to Canada. Flight is arriving at 6 p.m. tonight. Patiently waiting to go to the airport. I don't think this has hit me yet. Probably when he comes through the airport doors I'll go nuts LOL

it wont stop there .... i just wish they would put a story about the genuine and positive relationships but negativity and bs sells soooo it will continue and more and more and more people will keeping coming out with their stories for their 5 minutes of fame... since yesterday how may have told me their immigration sob story of this happened to a friend of mine etc...... i don't mean to sound cruel but i am tired of hearing of what happened to a friend of a friend of anybody's.... there are 2 sides to every story ...but they wont put that in the paper .... ??? ??? ??? ???

It's a glorious winter day after the storm. Sunshine, still air and now that we are dug out it looks beautiful. Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Last week produced no phone calls that we heard of but sending out those positive thoughts again to all of us that are waiting patiently.

Greeneyes...there was movement in Havana...just not for our group here!!!! My friend who applied in August her husband got the call!!!! Now I don't know of anyone who applied in September but I have a few friends from October who are waiting!!!!

It is an absolutely glorious day out there. We are having Hockey Day In Canada in Peterborough today and you could have not asked for a more beautiful Canadian setting!!!!!! My husband just could not believe that the snow did not stop yesterday and we have some drifts that are over 4 feet. This morning the sun was so so bright relfecting of the snow and the trees were heavey.....he just was amazed!!! He loved the whole ride to work!!!! I do so enjoy sharing all this with him!!!

Hi ladies!!

Its been a while since ive popped in!! Things have just been non-stop, but in a good way. But now im stuck with a huge cold Hubby has been taking care of me, taking the dog out for walks not wanting me to go out in the cold, and we were both just cleaning and when I lost the energy he just kept on going!! Hubby has been home for one month and a week now and i cant believe how much time is flying! Next weekend were off for a romantic wknd getaway in quebec city for valentines day and i cant wait! Its our first time out of Montreal since his arrival so should be fun!!

It sure is snowy out there! Yesterday was pretty crazy here but from what I understand Ontario and the states got it much worst than us! We ventured out for dinner with friends yesterday but the roads were terrible! So we cabbed it. Hubby is on the phone with my uncle now planning a day of pool with him and my dad. lol Im glad he's settling in well!

Seriously hoping that Havana will get back on the phones this week for you girls!! and KJG congrats for your friend!!
PPSandy still nothing?? Did you discover any reasons why in your notes?

KJG wanted to ask what did hubby have to do for his license? Mine has his papers form Cuba but we havent gone yet so just wanted to know where to go and what we need...

Hi everyone, well I'm just a few hours from getting on the plane to Holguin. Because of the storm the flight is delayed by a few hours, which is no big deal. Just as long as I get there !
I can just imagine what it was like to watch your husbands have their first experience of a Canadian snowstorm ! It must of been a joy to see!
