Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

because I dont know if I entered thru the link correctly. There are certain
nationality who are allowed to apply online. Correct me if I am wrong. May I

May I know when are you planning to go to Canada? there will be changes in student permit applications soon. Although, I do not think that Filipino citizens will be drastically affected (involves fingerprinting, and single database with EURO zone, USA and Australia). I will have to confirm on the CIC main website about it.

Anyway, at the moment, I think Filipinos are allowed to apply online. If you want to do so, you just have to answer several sets of question. The system will automatically tell you what to do, based on your answers. I think this is the link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/getting-started.asp

However, for now, I highly suggest that you do the "old-fashioned" paper based application. Although, the online system is very convenient and less hassle, the embassy will still require you to send the "hard copies" of what you uploaded online. (saka dadaan muna sa centralized system ung data mo, tapos ipapasa din nila sa manila office ung application mo). But, it is up to you, it also depends on how much time do you have until your classes begins.

hindi po ako gumamit ng consultant. Very helpful naman yung nasa website ng CIC at Canadian embassy in manila. Saka nakatulong din ung registrar at secretary ng university na inaplyan ko. Nonetheless, It is always ok to hire a consultant.

My partner is there in vancouver for a month now and as to
Student cost, i can only speak based from my clp's experience.

Here are rough average in CAD
Transportation good for a month for two zones-train and bus (unlimited ride) is $124
fido phone bill is $38/month (basic plan)
Groceries for a week $40-$60 is okay...

But... It is always best if you know someone there so you can have a free house to stay.
His classmates share an apartment... $800/month... They are 4 in one roof so they pay $200 each.
Range of $200-$500. /month.
Food-you can buy $6-15/meal

So there... I guess you to save and a have a work so you can sustain your needs


... WORK?...
Make sure you have a work permit otherwise it would be hard for you to get one.
Looking for a job depends on your availability / vacant time after school and qualifucations.
But looking for a job calls for PATIENCE, FAITH AND LUCK...
it's hard...

hello kyle, i've read ur previous post about vipm. may i know what is ur partner's status there? im interested in applying at vipm, and it needs a lot of money but i'm afraid maybe its not worth it. is he working off campus there? is the salary enough for daily living and for next year's tuition fee? tia for your reply. it will help me a lot. thank you btw, im applying for post diploma in health care management with work placement. is he receiving salary from 20hrs work placement?

Hi!

Upon landing, my partner was issued a study permit at the same time work permit(lucky enough!)
So he was able to secure his SIN card as well.

Yah i heard tuition fee increased end of last year. Far from what we paid.
He is also taking the same program (nurse ka rin ba?)
Actually ilan lang daw dun ang hindi pinoy, but not all of them are nurses.
By the way tuition fees are paid half before landing and the other half once he starts at school.
(Medyo sigurista-pay agad!) so he's not worrying much of any expenses as of this time yet. (Sapat pa yung dala niyang baon)... Not to mention... Almost everything is free. He is living at my aunt's house (pinsang buo ng papa ko) so basically he doesn't pay for an apartment,food, and even other needs (soap,shampoo,toothpaste,etc...)

As to work... All i can say is haaaaayyyyyyy! (I guest i have to send u a PM instead)
Medyo masaklap... You dont call it off campus work... Co-op program na eean ko ba. They themselves don't know what to do...

Fyi... Not all or just few of them (3 or 4) were issued work permit.
Pero even if you have work permit... Still - NO WORK!

ang alam ko once nareceive mo na yung LOA mo pwede ka na magapply.

kakareceive ko lang din ng LOA ko this week for sep 2013 intake. planning to file my visa probably 3rd week or last week of feb since kelangan ko na magreply and magbayad ng tuition by apr 15 to confirm my slot.

Yes you can.
We dont know how long will you wait before visa arrives.
Some would even take them more than 4months.
Anyway, yung validity nman ng visa will depend sa inclusive dates of your studies

Yes need talaga OR ng payment. Sa clp ko half of the total 2yrs program tuition fee ang inattach namin together with the other documents.

Yes... In terms of work placement (na pinangako) yet till now wala pa... Lahat sila same ang daing..
Well im not really sure kung anong move or strategy ng school as to job offers pero it's been months.

In all fairness naman, they are accomodating naman daw saka mababait.

Ow well its really hard to share our sentiments here.

If your asking regarding ano pwede maka support sa kanila... If they dont have relatives then spend the money they brought with them... Otherwise they really need to get a job... Mapa part time man yan o sideline... Or whatever... (Kaniya kaniyang sikap na maghanap... Kahit ano basta kakayanin)
