People who have successfully sponsored their common-law partner or spouse,
how did you present your supporting pictures? did you print them on regular paper or photo paper? what size did you print them in? how did you attach them so they stay in order? how many pictures did you send?
I sort of decided what pictures I want to use, I'm just not sure how many I need and how I should present them to CIC. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

hi! havent submitted our application yet but i asked and searched the threads for that exact question too.. from what i have read: you may either print in photo paper or on bond paper with several pictures on one sheet . just make sure u caption them , who what when where . its better if u arrange in chronological order.

just want to share also some tips ive gathered: its a good thing if u have photos from when u met up to present , better if u are with families and friends in the photos, you with his family and vice versa, show also ocassions, trips, other activities that would show u share same interests / hobbies etc. great to include weddig photos and reception . also ive read that its also good if u have photos in which u were not posing for the camera, like a stolen shot for example with friends in a party , etc. also show in photos the "passage of time" , like me i sported different haircuts over the years and gained/lost some weight too, or a picture with a baby then one when he is already a toddler, stuff like that :)

oh and some put it in envelopes (for photo paper) some used paper clips. quantity depends as long as they clearly depict ur relationship, rmmber we are trying to convince a stranger that our relationship is true
and committed. ive read around some have as few as 20 or as many as 200 or more and they were approved just the same.

Hi there,

Good job by pelipeli there :) Just sharing what I did.

Selected around 12 pictures (or multiples of 4) of different occasions and parties. And Windows has an option of printing the number of pictures you want. I selected 4 per letter size page and viola. It was the simplest thing I ever did. I did not use any photo editing software, nothing. I tried to though, but I just found the adjusting and resizing pictures a lot of work. The 4 per page pictures had clarity and saved us on ink and did not make our application heavy. Had about just under 100 pics :) And I wrote the captions later on with a marker explaining who, what, when :)

Hi! Glad to be of help! :) I tried using Word, but everytime I would adjust a picture the other one would go to the next page. Some people are good at Word (definitely not me) and could have managed, but I wasnt learning Word in a hurry anyways.

This was a much easier option. Just make sure you Auto Correct the pictures in Picture Manager (if you have one). That will give you better colour and remove any darkness.

All the best :)

Hi,

I sent actual photos, and sorted them in different labeled envelopes, such as wedding photos, honeymoon trip, first trip, second trip, etc. I then wrote on the back the date, where they were taken, who was in the pictures, and a slight description of the occasion.
I included about 160 pictures . I tried to include pictures with as many friends and family as I could, as well as the special places we went together.

All went very well, and my Husband was approved at the interview over 3 years ago. The agent did spend time asking him about the details of the who, when , where, and what in the pictures. lol

Good luck to everyone

Hello, I also sent the actual pictures, printed each one and labeled the back with names of people and their relation to us (example.. john doe... brother. Jane Doe.. childhood friend) place, date and ocassion. I know someone said you can do it on a CD, but in my opinion its better to make it as easy as possible for the VO, if you send actual pictures (or printed in anyway) i feel it is easier than if he has to take the CD and put it in his computer etc etc. just a thought.
I also divided then in different envelopes... like when we were (1)dating, (2)wedding, (3)honeymoon, and as (4) married couple. Ofcourse some had many more pictures than others... but I guess the more the marrier, We also chose as many pictures with family and friends, also making sure some pictures showed time passing like, I had braces and then got them taken off... I made sure to put that in, things like that that show time has passed.
Hope this helps a little!
Good Luck! ;D

Thanks for your input everybody!
I think I'll go with shamsia's idea :) It seems like a cheap and convenient way to get it done. And I'm planning to send just under 200 pictures, so sending actual photos would be quite expensive.
Shamsia, did you write your captions on the back of the page or did you have enough room underneath each picture?

I put our 160ish photos in to a word document that outlined time from our first conversation to the day I printed it off. It was about 85 pages, I tried to account for every month of every year, anything I could point out about what was happening, where we were, what our life was like and a photo from it if possible..... though we've been married 14 years. So that certainly makes things a bit different as far as our history.

I'm using roughly the same amount of pictures for a 2year relationship. Is that too much? ::)
As Shamsia did, I'm always using about 12 pictures per event/trip. I guess that should be OK 8)
