You're most welcome gigi1612. No I am not exactly sure what it does or what it means per say.
I just know that it isn't anything to worry about.

hi my dear supporters, I checked PR document checklist today after Jurjen's advice for putting N/A in not applicable fields.
However, I hit other two small questions, if you know, please help me out.
1. My sponsor received EI (Employment insurance) for a couple of months during the last year.
Is EI an kind of social assistance?
Do I need to attach EI as government payments under PROOF OF INCOME FOR SPONSOR section?

2. Another small question is, document checklist asked to attach pictures/photos separately. Here is what it said:In my application, I don't print photographs like the ones we put into photo frame. I found it's hard to manage to me.
My way is, I put them all under my separate papers (MS Word file) to explain for particular questions, put explanation or notes under each picture and print them by my color printer. Is it okay? I read somewhere in this thread that it was okay but I'm not pretty sure. I found myself very comfortable to print and attach all pictures into a file than bringing them to Walmart, shopper drug mart or loblaw to do for me.
Hi, I printed all pics at home. I used MS Word to edit every questions that needs extra explanation.
Because we didn't have too many pics so I separated them into different topics, such as 2009 X'mas with family, Victoria trip....etc and then put a little bit description about where we were, who we were being with..etc but I forgot to list/introduce everyone's name (who's in the pic). Also, I didn't print "big size" picture, I actually put 4-6 pics on a page with words, so you call tell how small the pics were :p
but anyway, they were accepted by CIC. I think that as long as your pics are clear enough, meaningful then you should not have any problem. Good luck

++Advice is needed++

Last night, I just found out I might get into trouble since I made a mistake on my son's app, it will be great if anyone here can share your opinion with me, thanks advanced.

Case Background:

I applied inland last Nov 3 and I put my son's name as Darn since this name sounds quite similar as his Chinese name and also his father (my ex-husband) wants to give the name to kid for some personal reasons.

Later on, my son went to have his medical exam and applied his passport this July. When we got his passport, we were surprised that the name on passport was not the one we put. As some people may know that Chinese usually translate their name by Romanization, so our government put "Ta-En" instead of "Darn" on the passport and then we called the government, the answer was " since we didn't provide English birth certificate, so we are not allowed to put the English name on it but we can change it next time when we renew it if we provide the papers they need."

Therefore, the end of this July I sent copies of my son's passport and the medical receipt, also with a letter explaining what happened about the name difference between the application and the passport. However, I haven't seen it updated on Ecas, even though CIC has signed for receiving.

2 days ago, I knew I got approved of AIP, I was so happy but now I've started worried about the "mistake" I made above. Will it become a serious problem to my case? Should I call CIC again for it?

Thanks a lot Jurjen and AmandaHsu, you guys are angels.
I really wish we can gather people here and meet in person. Anyone is interested?
We may want to make a group named Inland and have some regular meetings every year though.
I can imagine so much fun we can have together in real life too.
Enjoy the last weekend night guys.

Hi everyone!

Well, the letter FINALLY arrived!!!! It is dated September 12, 2011 and is advising me that

"We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The Canada Immigration Centre in London will contact you concerning your permanent resident status."

Some of you may remember that my second stage approval got delayed because I have three young children who live with my ex-husband (their father) in the USA and he denies my access to them, so I could not include them on my application. Sooooo, I had to fill out extra forms, etc, and the CIC people had to examine my file/forms. It only seems to have added an extra two months so far, so that is good.

I have some questions for anyone on here that may have some experience with this:

1. How can I find out the date/time of my London appointment?

2. What should I take with me other than my original passport and my M/C to pay the $490 fee they requested?

3. How is the London office to deal with? Nice, tough, ...?

Thanks all!!!!

Tuggie

First of all if you applied july 2011 it may be still early for your application to appear in ecas, but it could already appear......
you say that your husband can see the progress of the application(which application?)
usually it only shows on ecas with one of the two last names(yours or his). in my case , I'm the applicant(not the sponsor) and it shows on my name.

Some sponsors can see their status when they (almost) get approved but some not.
In my case, my sponsor has approved last week but there is still nothing showing on his Ecas.
So you don't have to worry too much..

It can take quite some time (often 2 months) to add information to your file. I think you should await that message on eCas and then call CIC for advice. You may have to send in a new form for your son with the name on the passport, to replace the old form. Or replace his passport inmediately if you really want to keep "Darn" as his English name, otherwise I think he'll have a lot of issues in the future when he needs to identify himself and his documents are not the same (like: arriving in Canada, landing, etc.) But that's my personal thought, I'm not CIC. ;)

It's too soon! If you just applied, you need to wait a few months to have the sponsor pop up in the system too. Only when they really start working on the case (about 8-10 months after reception) they enter the sponsor's information. Until that time, only the applicant's information is in eCas.

Got a letter from the Montreal office this morning. Before they can schedule my landing interview, I have to check a copy of the CoPR for incorrect information and send the 2 pictures for the PR card in advance.

Now I saw that they didn't fill in my place of birth, is a correction going to delay everything again (do they reprint the CoPR in the local office, or does it go through Vegreville)?

I'm going to walk by the office today to see if I can speak to someone there about this. Hanging on the phone for CIC HotLine takes too much of my time.

for inland sponsors, does it show anything extra when the spnosor log into ECAS with their info instead of the applicants?
how am I the sponsor suppose to log in if I dont have a client ID? I have no immigrant documents cause I'm a born canadian citizen with no previous work permit, visa etc ...

hi guys im back!

i just wanna share my landing experience last friday, september 23, 2011

so, as we entered the immigration office, got 4th number on line..

- we paid for the landing fee amounting to $490 and wait for our turn for interview.

- after 5 minutes waiting, oficer called us for interview.
- she just verified some correction of names, ask few question if i have commited crime, been asked to leave canada..
- after that, she congratulate us. she was so nice and have sense of humor
- after signing the document, i've been told to wait outsode for another 5 minutes for a representative from service canada to assist me getting a permanent SIN

- 1 hour of waiting, a ladY from service canada room went out and announce that there gonna be a 1 hour delay due to system shutdown of their computers..

- so we keep on waiting for an hour...

- after another hour, a guy went out again from service canada room and announce that for those who jsut landed can go to any service canada location because they dont know when their system will resume..

- me and my husband went home and eat then go out again to go to SErvice Canada close to our area.. ( 10 minutes drive)
- i entered service canada office and somebody assisted me right away
- i showed my Confirmation of permanent residence paper inclusing my old SIN.

- then i was so shocked when she said that they will no longer issue SIN not ultil i get my PR card.

that was so unfair. in my landing letter, they said they will issue me same day il got landed. they said they cannot do anything because it's not only me who didn't get SIN, everyone who landed last september 23 and so on.. will no longer receive permanent SIN until PR card arrive. I am happy that finally i am now a Permanent Resident.. but a bit disappointed because they change their mind again not to give permanent SIN for those who have temp SIN

Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS and WELCOME TO CANADA!!! :D ;)
Lastly, you have to realize that only select local CIC offices do offer to get a permanent SIN at the same location (maybe like 1 or 2 do). He was wrong to say that you could get it at another location. Most people the only way they can work after landing is if they used their OWP (if they had one after AIP) to get a temporary SIN and kept working on it until after they got their PR card and then got a permanent new SIN. Unless you did this, you will have to wait until after you get your PR card to get a permanent SIN and start working. That is their rules for inland applicants.

If you were outland, you can take your COPR and voided out PR visa in your passport as proof of PR status. However, for inland applicants they will not accept just the COPR alone as proof and some stamps that inland applicants get after landing is NOT the same as the visa outland applicants get that entitle them to land. The only proof they will accept from inland applicants is PR card with COPR. It even states this on their site. Unless you find a way to be allowed to go back to your local office and explaining the mess up, you will have to wait 2-3 months to get your PR card to be eligible for a SIN and to start working. Sorry for the inconvenience. I too had to wait all because my OWP got to me later and the next morning I had to land and didn't have a chance to get a temporary SIN before landing. So I had to wait almost 2 months for my PR card but once I had that, that gave me a SIN no problem.
