Dear Legal Falcon,

I would like to have your kind guidance for the below. I got the COPR and will be reaching Canada by 01 Mar 23

1. Due to Medical Emergency, I have to withdraw all my funds which I maintained and showed with IRCC during the PR process. Is this ok to go for it and be noted that I can able to deposit back the required funds in the account by 01 Feb 23? Will this create an issue?

2. Does the border officer will check the current statement and bank letter or the previous 6 months for the fund's maintenance?

3. Or can I take all the 20,500 CAD by cash when I am landing with my family of 3? By this, I can inform the immigration officer that the required funds are in hand.

4. I would like to take only 10,000 CAD in cash and the balance excess cash in the account as stated above by depositing back by 01 Feb 23.

This is an emergency due to which I request your kind reply.

Hello @legalfalcon ,

I have received a very wierd request from IRCC. There is a Request letter that has popped in my portal asking for my dependent child to be added to my profile. However....I dont have a child! Not quite sure how to go about this.

Some context and background: I am a FSW in the post AOR stage (I had recently added my spouse post marriage to my application). In all the forms asking for details of children I had explicitly written Not Applicable; I am wondering if the system read Not Applicable as the name of 'my child' ? I dont think this is the case though as the form filling guides state that you have to fill NA or Not Applicable in the irrelevant fields.

This has seriously put me in worry as I am worried this may further delay/complicate the application and I am in the AOR stage since Feb'21.

@legalfalcon : Can you share your insights here?

It's an error and this is becoming more common each day. Send a webform to IRCC informing them of this.

1. yes, should not be an issue as long as you deposit them back and have the PoF. If IRCC asks for a revised PoF, you can explain it.

2. At the border, you only have to show PoF. which can be the same statement that you sent to IRCC. A revised one, or a combination of the cash you are carrying and the bank statement, etc.

The points are awarded when you apply, i.e., when you create your profile. If your age changes prior to getting an ITA, your points will be deducted. IF it changes after ITA, you will be exempt from the deduction. see https://bit.ly/3AnvU22

Since you have a PNP nomination, the points, even if deducted, will not be an issue.

Thank you @legalfalcon . I have reached out to IRCC but no response from them yet.

I enquired via an MP and I was informed that my application was approved again on the 20th of July but status on profile still shows submitted.

Can I travel with my existing visa and copr?
If your application is approved, and in the system the current visa number and COPR is reflected, then you can surely travel on the same documents.

Thanks @legalfalcon! I have a similar circumstance that just emerged today. Just received my PPR and it says I must follow the steps within 30 days including sending the passport to Ottawa within 30 days. It also says please notify via webform immediately if there’s been any major events such as birth/death etc and so I informed about the birth of child and provided a passport copy since it was just issued, using the webform document upload. Do you know what the next step is? Can I safely assume that it’s okay to hold on to my passport for now and that I’ll get a new PPR including newborn later? Will they inform me what docs are required to add my baby? I’m nervous that I won’t hear back at all and then after 30 days they might tell me it’s all been canceled. For context I’m based in the US and have upcoming travel in the next month for H1B stamping so wanted to get some clarity/insights around timeline for this. Appreciate your guidance. Thanks!
Not sure what your question is. Next step for what? and what are you assuming?

@legalfalcon thanks. I just got two last question.

1.) Would you recommend me to inform IRCC in my invitation letter that currently I am in my home country with my parents? Or I can skip that information?

2.) My parents don't have US visa or previous Canadian visa so should they use the old GC key for their visitor visa application or rather the new portal ? I heard there are many rejections for the new portal applications. What is your advice sir?
1. Its does not matter and neither is it asked anywhere. All you have to do is provide your address in Canada and show that you are a PR, and can support your parents is inviting them on a supervisa.

2. That is your choice. Even if they have a US visa or have been issued a Canadian visa previously, the new application has nothing to do with the previous visa issuance, can you can submit the new application either with the GC ket or the new portal.

Hello @legalfalcon. Hope you are doing well.

I have a query regarding my initial PR Card. I am not sure if this is out of your purview, hence I am sharing my concern here anyway.

I landed on 7th July and my COPR expired on 21st July.

I have been trying to link my PR Card application to my GC Key account since last one month. However, every single time I am getting this exact same message i.e. "Based on the information you entered we found no application or the Application number does not exist in our record".
I have raised two webform informing the IRCC team of this issue with an attachment of my signed COPR document.

I have tried calling them but its impossible to get through to them owing to the record number of requests that they are flooded with.

I am not sure what to do. I am starting to worry that my application is not yet registered in the IRCC system and not sure how to go about rectifying this.

Kindly please let me know if you can guide me in this regard.

dear @legalfalcon, I hope you are having a nice start to the week.

I would like to ask about changes after COPR for FSW-outland applicant. I couldn't find any reply about these in forum that's why I'm directly asking you.

Does the applicant need to inform IRCC if there are changes/quit work after COPR before physical landing in Canada?

What type of changes should an applicant provide to IRCC after COPR?

Thanks in advance. Best Regards

@legalfalcon hope you are fine.

I have 2 options to apply for my parents visitor visa.

Reality:-

Scenario A:- I did soft landing and returned 4 months back and now I am planning to return to Canada and before that I wanted to apply for my parents visitor visa. They have good financial, relatives, employment ties. They will be sponsoring the entire trip. & I will be sending them the invitation letter.

Scenario B:- I go to Canada, look for a job and right after getting the job I apply for my parents Visitor visa. I am the only child of my parents and they don't have any travel history.

Considering the situation, do you think there is a much bigger differences in their chance to get their visa approved in Scenario B compared to Scenario A ? Would you recommend Scenario B rather than A? I will go with A if the chances are almost same. thanks sir

Hello All,
My relative did upfront medical in April. Her AOR is Jan 2021(Express Entry)

She did this in canada during her temproary residence permit period in April 2022, but got medical request 10 days after she did it upfront. Web form was also raised saying that medicals is already done and a copy was attached.
But system still says we did not recieve your medicals.

Any suggestions here please, she is away from her husband for a long time and other personal situation is also making her life miserable..

@legalfalcon could you please suggest if we have to do medicals again or what procedure to be followed now ideally?
