So update from me. Got a webform back saying the mailed it.......to my old address.... That I not only changed by webform but gave the new one to the agent when I landed. The inefficiency of these guys doesn't cease to amaze me.

Now I'm trying to track down the envelope.
Hi,
Did you get any updates on your work permit application?
I got an update today saying it has been withdrawn but they did not mention anything about the refund, is this normal?
Does the refund come to our accounts automatically or should I call them tomorrow and check with them?

When I called them they said it had been withdrawn March 09 and it takes up to 16 weeks for a refund!!!! In what other business would that be acceptable, are they counting each note individually? Crazy. Told me to call back at the end of July if I haven't received it
I had no update because it never was linked to my account, apparently it should be automatic to the card you paid with.

I called them today and the agent told me the refund has been initiated and it might take up to 6 weeks for me to see it in my card but last time when my work permit application was refused I got the refund for open work permit holder fees In my card in just a week from the refusal date.
If your application was withdrawn on March 09 you should have got your refund by now, did you check your statement recently?

Yes checked, on an email they said 16 weeks too. I have given up with immigration. My pr card and refund will arrive when it arrives. Thinking about the situation makes me very annoyed so I'm trying not to think of it

@baltzly bet you are glad that you went down to the border the day you got your CoPR? I keep thinking if I had left my landing for just a couple of weeks later I wouldn't have been able to get it done. We were so close to everything getting delayed by all this. So grateful for getting my CoPR when I did.

Yeah, that's right! I do feel fortunate that I landed right before everything was shut down. However, my PR card becomes the only remaining issue in the entire PR application. Still having something hanging in the air is definitely not a good feeling. Without the PR card, this PR application process is technically still "in progress"...
I'm now almost 3 months since I landed and I still don't have my card! Frustrating but by the time I get it hopefully the borders will be open again

So did you send that Solemn Declaration Form to Sydney VO for them to reprint your card? When I called them, the agent couldn't even provide a general timeframe for PR card processing because there was a huge backlog and their office was working at minimum capacity. I guess your application now may be in a different queue as your application is categorised as "card sent but lost in the mail".
Sent the solemn declaration and it arrived on Tuesday. I'm now in the pile with the renewed cards I think. I'm really hoping they may have a look in the returned to sender mail pile and find it there and just re send the old one. Normally solemn declarations take a month. I don't know what their priorities are, renewed card or new cards? At least there won't be loads of people landing so the numbers of new applications at the moment should be pretty low.

Update**

I officially landed in Canada today 06/01/20. I flew into Vancouver, and the whole process was smooth. Now I will be quarantined for 14 days. I had to make this trip because my COPR was to expire on the 26th of June. I am glad I am officially a Permanent Resident of Canada. Now the wait has started for the PR card. Goodluck to everyone waiting for this day.

Just had another frustrating call with IRCC today to learn my background is still in progress and security not started yet. It seems my files have not been touched since my eligibility passed in late March. Any August fellows have any insights or experience to share regarding security check progress?

Hello guys,
Something weird happened today, I got an email this morning saying they need some more time to process my PR application, but my PR application has been approved since February and I already received my PR card as well.
Did anyone else get this email?

I have experienced SS. Which specific aspect of security check would you like to know more about?
To be honest, I have no clue about what has been examined in terms of my security check. The customer service simply replied that my background was still in process and security was not started. Does that suggest a SS or just a regularity due to extended processing time nowadays?
Many thanks ahead!
