we both are doing freelance work from last many years
and we have a son

me and my son will be mentioned as dependent

Filling Income tax returns from 4-5 years

family - me , wife , son

I wanted to move family to canada
and found this thread helpfull

Question is can i apply my wife as primary applicant (shae is preparing for ielts )and all of us as dependent

as she was also doing the same business with me and assisting me

will it work ?

I am a fashion designer and I have a post graduate diploma certificate in this line however, I am not a self employed individual currently and I work in the as a designer and product development manager in a company for past 10 years.I have experience of staring many companies in past and I have worked in various capacities but not as a self employed person but as a full time employee. Can I still apply under this programme. Please advise.

You need to pay the PR application fee right away, without which, they will not start processing your application. Payment of the Biometrics fee is optional at the beginning, but the immigration office stresses that if you do choose to pay it upfront, it will hasten the process.

Unfortunately, no. Here's what the eligibility condition states -

• Applicants must demonstrate that they have at least two years of relevant experience during the period beginning five years before the date of the permanent resident application and ending on the day a determination is made on the application, as outlined in the definition.

I'm not sure I agree with you 100% , she has 'participated' and therefore now needs to establish 'world class' if any of their works can acclaimed to be so. I believe this was the case with @BaNana82 who has since landed in Canada

I agree with @Palamon said.
they look into whether you can sustain yourself/your family in Canada without a job - as a self employed business/individual. that entails quite a bit - new business development, business management, accounts etc. plus hopefully create future employment for others.

Definitely apply with a proper complete application and all documents. Ielts is not required but every thing helps. so add it.
