H & C first stage approval inquiry

Hello BeaC.
When i applied for humanitarian i was on restoration. I was able to secure a work permit again after they took out the 4 years cap last dec. i was reaching my 4 years that time. I also tried to apply for express entry but my score didnt reach the quota.

Thanks again for your information. I'll find out those information you suggested, as it's been quite helpful.

I'm not sure if I have a good lawyer or not. He's within contact but not much advice I got from him. Besides I haven't really seen the application package he did for me and the letter he wrote for me. His law firm specialises in immigration matters in town and he suggested the H&C based on my situation when I met him, esp I have a parenting order in place. It seems the waiting period for this category is really long.

You should ask your lawyer for a copy of the application. Did you even get the chance to review what was filled in the form? You could run into trouble if you signed the forms without reviewing the information (especially if false information was written)

Hello dire,

Thank you for the reply and reminder.
Based on your reply, I've gone through my emails with my lawyer. I don't remember whether I have reviewed the form, but I think I have signed the form when I brought them the payment. However, the lawyer has indeed communicated on missing information and documents for the form. The lawyer said he finished the submission. One thing I'm sure is, if he had written any letter for me, I haven't reviewed it at all, nor the actual package --- I guess I chose to trust them as my representative and their experience on dealing with immigration matter. My impression is that the application package was submitted last November and they can add any additional information before a decision is made. Honestly I have no idea what is going on.

Hello guys,

Im just wondering, would anybody have any experience of switching lawyers in the process of H&C application (or switch to another category)? I understand it may be detrimental but at the same time if the lawyer doesn't work for your best interest (perhaps for his own), there may have to be a call ...

Hi miranda21,
any news or any updates, have you following your application, does 1st stage take that long, I have been applied on May 12, and still nothing. any new updates about the process time?,
and if anybody advises about the CIC processing time for H&C, which says 29 months, is that including Permanent Residency application, or just H&C approval.

Hello Mims,
how long was your process? and also i have applied for H&C since march 2017 but i have not heard anything from them. i cheched my Ecas today. i didnt even know there was anything like Ecas unless i would have been tracking it since march. On my Ecas i saw application received March 23 2017. thats all i saw. is this normal/ cos from what i see many got first stage approval in 5 to 6 months. only one line on my Ecas. whats the next line i ought to be seeing.? and please tell me all the lines you received from ecas from the first one you got till the last so i know what to expect next on my ecas. thanks

First Stage Approval: 8 November 2016
Medical, Police Certificat , Fee request : 1 March
Medical Done : 21 March

Immigration Quebec contact with me at March 16 , I asked for 30 days extension , I send all requested document at 24 march, I received my CSQ at May 11.

CLENOVIA- You dont need apply for CSQ, CiC transfer your file to Quebec, transfer take beetwen 2-4 months
Miranda21- work permit after First Stage Approval take 15 weeks

You a both can check your application status by Receipt Number, when you pay for your application

Hello Beac,

i applied march 23 and still have not heard from the. is it normal? i checked ecas today it says We received your application for permanent residence march 2017 . thats all i see
