I have a question regarding the “Proof of Sponsor’s Visit to the Principal Applicant” section in a spousal sponsorship application.
My situation is an arranged marriage. My spouse and I started talking in March 2025. I travelled to India at the end of May 2025 to meet her for the first time, and we got married in early June 2025. After the wedding, we lived together for about a month before I returned to Canada.
For the purpose of this question, would my trip in May/June 2025 be considered a sponsor’s visit to the principal applicant, even though I travelled before we were legally married? Or should I select that I did not visit and provide an explanation letter?
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a similar situation or received guidance on this. Thank you!
