Did you get any tracking number email from BLS or Purolator?

You can track on Purolator using your application number (CANTxxxx or CANVxxxx) as applicable.

I applied for my OCI through BLS Edmonton. The status on the OCI portal shows “Granted”, but on the BLS tracking site it still says “Under Process at Consulate.”


Can anyone share how long it usually takes after “Granted” status to actually receive the OCI card?

Hello everyone,
Will it be problem with oci application if child birth certificate contains father first and last name (john smith)but father’s passport having given name as first name + middle name and then last name (john dave smith)? What will be the solution for this? Will affidavit be enough as it's only middlename? Planning to submit my newborn application. Help will be much appreciated. Thanks

What do you need to pickup OCI card from BLS brampton? It was a postal application so would just a DL work?

You would need receipt and ID card. DL would work. But for postal application they would send it as soon as they receive, so very small window you have to pick up.

I’m submitting my OCI application at the Toronto consulate. Regarding the Voter ID surrender, do I need to submit the surrender acknowledgment (generated after submitting Form 7) along with the OCI application at BLS?

Also, Do we need to submit Ration card surrender acknoweldgement ?

Hi I took a copy of Form 7 acknowledgement with me and also had uploaded it along with rest of the documents. The BLS toronto counter person returned the physical acknowledgement and said its okay to let the online upload be as is. For the ration card i did not have any document, so I just provided the declaration in the format requested by consulate.

OCI status changed to “GRANTED” from “UNDER-PROCESS”,
Application submitted at BLS Edmonton on 10th Sep
Application received at Consulate on 13th Sep
Status showed UNDER-PROCESS till 18th Nov and then changed to GRANTED

I have an purolator delivery for my minor child that got routed to pickup at their location. We don’t have any address proof with child’s name. What to do?

OCI application submitted at Ottawa on August 29, 2025 for minor. Status still shows "under process". It is almost 11 weeks since applied. BLS call center never answer's their phone. Does anyone know where to contact for inquiry?

12 weeks it should be done in. Contacting BLS doesn't help as processing happens at consulate level. Just wait for 1 more week.

Finally received the OCI in hand after some technical issues with Purolator.

Timeline
Walk-in submission at BLS Surrey 30 Aug 2025
Under processing at consulate 4 Sept
Granted 3 Nov 2025
Purolator received the package on 14 Nov, and was scheduled to deliver at a shared rental house on 17 Nov. I requested “hold for pickup” instead of deliver at house.

Any Address change including generating new label for “hold for pickup” is not allowed by BLS and the package was in limbo. It was not even known where it was. We were worried it was lost. Finally could pickup the package today.

P.S: if for a minor child who can’t give you authorization for pickup, carry birth certificate and passport with you to purolator for pickup.
