OCI process

Also, can someone with a walk-in experience at BLS Brampton let me know what’s the best time to go so the waiting duration would be minimum? How long should I expect to wait approximately?
 
Hey, did anyone submit their OCI as walk-in and had to retake their photo at the location. I had to do so at the Brampton location this morning and it looks like they haven't updated my online form with the new photo they clicked at the center. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hey, what time did you go to the Brampton BLS and how long did you have to wait for the whole process?

So you did manage to get in with the visa appt., it seems.
No experience taking photo at BLS or letting them update the application. But should be fine as they do this in many cases. They may be updating it in their back office before passing on to the Consulate.

Where did you see this news?

I think once the acknowledgement date is received, most of the processing is done by MEA. Only after they send the OCI back to Vancouver consulate, the consulate gets involved in the process again. @abbas.pasha , @forw.jane , @eas2lv - can you please correct if this understanding is wrong?

After consulate it is MHA not MEA which is involved.

No idea how the process works but saw news online which stated there are posters etc with protests expected around Oct 29th etc.

Same here, I really hope things get better and restore Evisa rather than making it worse :(

@niswe - as you can see from this even MEA is involved. They seem to be the one sending the OCI to the consulates/HC here.
