Temporary Foreign Worker Services Expanded to Ontario and Atlantic Canada

Citizenship and Immigration Canada Minister Diane Finley recently announced that two new Temporary Foreign Worker units are being established in Toronto and Moncton (New Brunswick). They will help employers in the Ontario and Atlantic regions to fill labour force shortages with temporary foreign workers.

"The addition of these two temporary foreign worker units means that employers across Canada now have a dedicated point of services where they can get help getting the workers they need," stated Minister Finley. "The units will help make the process easier for employers, and will help strengthen local and regional economies."

The new units are in addition to three existing offices in Vancouver, Calgary, and Montreal. The current offices provide advice to regional employers and facilitate the entry of foreign workers in certain occupations. They are working with the provinces to address regional skill shortages.
