Citizenship and Immigration Canada Minister Diane Finley announced that as of November 30, 320 Service Canada centres across the country are providing in-person foreign credential referral services for internationally-trained newcomers.

"Newcomers want to contribute to our country by working in the fields for which they’ve been trained, and we want to help them do that," stated Minister Finley.  "Internationally-trained individuals can now walk into Service Canada centres across the country and receive in-person help on how to get their credentials assessed and recognized."

The services are part of the Foreign Credentials Referral Office (FCRO) launched this past spring.  The FCRO also created an interactive website and a dedicated phone service to assist with foreign credential recognition; both of which have seen a lot of use.  It also implemented overseas orientation sessions, which have been actively attended.
