David Cohen defends current Immigration Act on Parliament Hill

Since the proposed amendments to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) were announced in Parliament in March, Attorney David Cohen has been actively working with government authorities to educate stakeholders about the finer points of IRPA.

On Monday, May 12th Attorney Cohen spoke before the Finance Committee and the Citizenship and Immigration Committee who are reviewing the proposed legislation before it goes back before the House of Commons for a third and final vote.

Depuis que les changements à la loi sur l'immigration et la protection des réfugiés (LIPR) ont été annoncés en Parlement en mars, Maître David Cohen s’est occupé de travailler avec les autorités gouvernementales pour renseigner les intervenants sur les subtilités de la LIPR.

Le lundi 12 mars, Maître Cohen s’est présenté devant le comité de finance et le comité de l’immigration qui eux, révise la législation proposée avant qu’elle soit retourné à la Chambre des Communes pour la troisième vote; la vote ultime.
