Citizenship and Immigration Canada to Speeds Up Immigration Processing for Tsunami Survivors.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada has responded to the tragic event in South and South East Asia by initiating procedures to help reunite close family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents who have been, and continue to be, seriously and personally affected by the disaster.

  • Expediting existing sponsorship applications of Family Class applicants under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act who have been and continue to be seriously and personally affected by the disaster and who have immediate family members in Canada.
  • Waiving new application processing fees and the Right of Permanent Resident fee for persons who have been and continue to be seriously and personally affected by the disaster.

If you or someone you know requires more information, or assistance, our canadian immigration law firm is providing pro bono (free of charge) advice and services to tsunami-affected individuals and their families.
