Dear friends,

Today i have received reply from Ministerial Enquiries Division in which i requested that more than year long security checks regarding my application.

I am pasting their reply as under

As you are aware, all applicants for permanent residence are subject to statutory requirements including medical and background checks.  These requirements must be satisfied before an applicant may be granted permanent resident status.  Outside agencies conduct background checks for Citizenship and Immigration Canada and we have no control over any delays that may occur.

Our records indicate that your background checks are still not complete. As soon as the visa officers receive the results of the background checks, the processing of the application should continue without delay.  If you have not been contacted by the visa office in Berlin within three months, please contact us again so that we can follow up with the visa office.

please what do you have to say regarding this, looking forward to all of you

They don't rely on Police certificates for security checks, they have so many agencies who conduct securoty checks. What they do is contact local intelligence agencies and cross check criminal record., it also depends on Pakistani security agencies if they are providing information in time.

Hi Ahmad!

Do you know how much time they can take to complete security checks for Pakistani applicants. How much time it took in your case?? what kind of agencies are involved? is it ISI, intelligence bureau or what?? can we approach these agencies and ask to do quicker security checks??

thanks

This is reply posted by ahmad to my question in private. thanks

Hi,

I don't know which agencies are involved in Pakistan, definitely not ISI. I can't remember which agencies carry out checks from Canada, there was an applicant who wrote to Canadian security agency to find out if his security checks were to which they responded that yes checks are completed and report has been submitted to CHC.

It depends how long it takes, it mostly depends on canadian agencies and Pakistan agencies to respond, this process itself isn't that long but it's local CHCs take very long to finalise the cases. Average security checks lasts for 2-3 months.

Dear saqib.javaid,

As per my understanding your immigration file was misplaced or stuck somewhere but now onwards your file will move forward smoothly. It means your bachground checks has just been started and will be finishing in standard timeframe of 3 months.

If you won't get any response by the end of June 2011, I would suggest you to contact Ministerial Enquiries Division, Canada again by July 01, 2011.

Good luck !

Hi Nectar,
Just wondering why you think that the immigration file for this applicant may have been misplaced. Do you think that mine (which is in Ottawa at the moment with the Medical branch) may have been misplaced too, since I did my medicals in July 2010, and many other Ottawa applicants have got the PPRs and did their medicals 3 or 4 months after me?
I am truly concerned about my case and I do not seem to get anything out of Ottawa.

Dear edupolo,

Misplaced means- do not on priority which is due to several factors such as personal checks pending, medical furtherence, visa quota finished or enough inventory for PR visa issuance etc.

Royal Canadian Mounted police is responsible for background checks in collaboration with local Police. These checks take more time in Pakistan as we dont have centralized criminal record database.
Following is the one of job description of RCMP

facilitation of information exchanges between Canadian law enforcement and Pakistan law enforcement with regards to all aspects of criminality ranging from terrorism and organized crime to drugs and immigration;

Dear members

I have come to knowledge there is bulk of inquiries from RCMP for security purposes in FIA Pakistan. In order to find my inquiry a reference no is needed and within 24 hours it will be completed. What would you suggest should i try to get that reference no or just wait??? Undecided
